TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART SEVENTEEN
PSALM 91 – PART TWO
Saturday – May 11, 2019, Iyar 6, 5779

Greeting dear brothers and sisters and welcome back to this illuminating Bible Study to separate light from darkness. The Religious Pillar or sphere of influence is lousy with error, and perverted Scripture being taught and received as Truth. It you are receiving this on Facebook, please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of this Ministry and to influence your own circle sowing good seed. You will recall that I am dealing with the general topic of prayer and the essential role of decrees being on our lips. Nothing, absolutely nothing gets done in the earth except it is decreed by a person, one with authority, in the earth. To illustrate this relationship, I will continue with a study of Psalm 91. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible text for today.
Psalm 91:1-8 (KJV)
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
The will of God or we could say the Covenant (Blood Covenant) we have with the Father in Christ Jesus, is for us to be in the secret place and the shadow of God. However, we have a vital role to play. We are freewill creations in the image and likeness of God. We choose salvation or not and we choose to be devoured of Satan or not. One might say, “no one would choose to be devoured of Satan”. And I would respond, really? Are we recognizing the deceptions the enemy brings and are we uniformly defeating them? Jesus did not go to the Cross so we could be fodder for the enemy and then after horrendous defeats finally attain to Heaven. We are to be a walking testimony of the goodness of our God and be routinely putting the enemy to an open shame just as Jesus did at Calvary and beyond.
As we study, meditate upon, our primary text for today, we find in verse one the will of God. In verse two we find our part in the will of God. In the following verses we find the benefits of knowing the will of God and doing our part to make the will of God a reality in our lives. There is a religious myth that whatever is going on in our lives is somehow the will of God. Cast that lie, demonic doctrine, out of your thinking in the name of Jesus. Is there anyone reading this that does not want to be delivered from the snare of the fowler or be unaffected by the various pestilences (plagues, epidemics, viruses, etc.) present in the curse? As we move into verse four of our text, we actually find another responsibility that must be discharged before we reap the benefit. This responsibility benefit relationship is no different than what we have experienced on a secular job. Of course, the unavoidable difference is that the benefit package of the Kingdom of God is way better and does not involve toil. You have to discharge the responsibilities of the job before you reap the benefits of the job whether it be a secular job or our assignments in the Kingdom of God.
The end of verse four reads as follows; “his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Did you read that as some sort of automatic thing that just sort of falls on one? What is “his truth”? Can we be completely ignorant of or ignore the “truth” and still He be our shield and buckler? Of course not, no more than we can be ignorant or ignore the policy and procedure manual of our job and be successful. So, given the context of our study what do you suppose activates God as our shield and buckler since He makes it freely available but we must activate it. We have to know what the truth is and declare it, declare that He is our shield and buckler. When He is our shield and buckler, we are completely surrounded by Him. In the Hebrew this is defined as being like a cactus hedge to the enemy. In the prayer closet or anytime declare Him as your shield and buckler then say, thank you Lord that you are my shield and buckler. Declare it by faith nothing wavering. From that day on simply thank Him for being your shield and buckler. In our thanksgiving brings victory and triumph into our lives.
As we wind down for this Saturday, we find that verse five of our text also contains a responsibility in order to reap a benefit. When we are not afraid the terrors of the night and the arrows of the day are no threat to us. On the other hand, if we walk thinking and expressing fear, we are fodder for the enemy and terrors will penetrate as will the arrows. Remember, fear is not believing that God will do exactly what He said He would do. In fear, in unbelief, we cannot enter the rest of God, the provisions of God.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
