THOUGHTS PRODUCE A HARVEST

Greetings to one and all and welcome to this teaching on “WHOSE THOUGHTS”. What about this? Are our thoughts our secrets forever? And whose thoughts are we thinking? Are we thinking the thoughts of our own understanding, the voice of other people’s reasonings plus or minus Godly or demonic influence, demonic voices, or the voice of God? There is someone who is talking to us all the time. We call this our thought life. Are thoughts harmless? By the way our thoughts are not a secret from God and our thoughts produce fruit. Our thoughts may be a secret for a season from other people and the demons, that is until our words betray our thoughts and the fruit manifests.
We are thinking about something all the time, even in our sleep. We are receiving input to our thought life all day through music, radio, TV, conversations, books, articles of all types (audio, kindle, paper, etc.). Our thoughts can be Godly, neutral, or devilish. Godly thoughts are those in line with Scripture. Neutral thoughts are things like thinking about our grocery list, a task at work and so on. Devilish thoughts are any and all thoughts contrary to Scripture. Yesterday we examined the admonition of Jesus to take heed to how we listen. Among other things today we will be examining his admonition to take heed to what we hear. As we start this study let’s listen to the Lord Jesus picking up where we left off yesterday in Mark four.
Mark 4:24-29 (KJV)
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. (bold added)
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
I will be focusing on verse twenty-six and following but included verses 24 and 25 as reminders and context. We are warned by the Master to pay attention to what we are hearing. Our shields, our Scriptural filters, must be in place at all times. Rejecting what is not of God, all that is contrary to Scripture and receiving what is of God. Remember the devil sends people which includes the TV, the radio, audio materials, written materials and so on. God sends people which may be on the same mediums. Don’t be receiving and repeating gossip or the words of a secular (or so called “Christian”) song that is contrary to the Word of God. As we study through our Mark 4 primary text, remember that there are no one sided coins.
Jesus starts with talking about the Kingdom of God and the casting of seed into the ground but remember there are no one sided coins as I just said. The seed in the case of our text is the Word of God, and the ground is our heart. However, the words of Satan, of the world, anything contrary to Scripture, are also cast into our heart. The seed of God’s Word takes us in His will, and the seed of Satan takes us away from God’s will. The harvest on these seeds may not be immediate, but the harvest will come. Now there is one caveat to consider. If we mix the Seed of God and the seed of Satan, we will not get a righteous harvest but the curse. Our preeminent example of this is the fall of Adam and Eve and all of mankind with them. Our study tomorrow will include the following lengthy passage so be meditating on it now.
Proverbs 4:20-27 (KJV)
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
TAKE HOME:
- Be very careful what you hear, not just talking sound, but what is received into our spirit (soul) for it strengthens or weakens us spiritually and in turn weakens us in the physical realm.
- Be very choosy with what seed you cast into your ground!
- Good seed, God seed uncontaminated brings the will of God, on the other hand Satan’s seed brings his will which is stealing, killing, and destroying.
As the Lord wills, I will resume this teaching tomorrow. The Lord bless and keep you and yours today and every day. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
