YOUR FATHER ABRAHAM
Monday – April 22, 2019, Nisan 17, 5779
Greetings my precious and treasured brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. I am so honored that you are friends and partners of this ministry. Thank you. The pictures this week will be of wildlife in various natural and stunning settings. Now let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study of the Book of John by reading our primary text aloud.
John 8:56-59 (KJV)
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
As you can see this crowd is not quieting down but as you have seen from the text are becoming more and more enraged with Jesus. There is something I have mentioned before but I want to bring back to our consciousness again, which is that the people all in an uproar here are not the nonreligious folks, it is the religious Jews that want to silence Him by killing Him. As I suspect you know all too well, it is the people close to us that can hurt us the most or the people we don’t expect to hurt us that do the most damage. Always refuse to be offended and be in love and forgiveness mode! Always! The enemy will amplify things that were innocent on the part of the speaker or doer and the things that were not so innocent. There is One person of whom we seek and crave after for His approval and that is our Heavenly Father and our wonderous Savior Christ Jesus. We must also be very careful not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Of course, we strongly desire the approval of our earthly parents, our spouse, and numbers of other peoples but when the trumpet blows only one approval has set the course of our eternity. We must never ever crave the approval of a person above God. Putting a person before God makes them our god. Now, let’s focus in on verse fifty-six.
Jesus is talking about Abraham having seen His day. Jesus is not speaking in the abstract, nor that Abraham saw His day by faith. Abraham was given a glimpse of the day of Jesus in the earth and the redemption price. Those of you who have been diligently following these teaching will know where I am heading and this will be a wonderful reminder, for others this will be an amazing insight. Recall that God started to develop a friendship and then a Covenant with Abram (later named by God Abraham) starting in Genesis. There is a very perverse thought in the Church that God just does whatever with whoever and whenever He wants. There is zero Truth in that line of thinking. God is love and part of that means that He obeys His own words, He obeys His own laws, and He respects the freewill of all persons. Of course, God wants us to love Him (obey, walking fully in His Word) freely, in full trust, without reservation. He knows and we should know that staying close to the Master is what keeps us safe without exception just as it kept Jesus safe. Staying close to God provides an abundance in all areas of life (spirit, soul, and body) that is difficult for the natural mind to even imagine. The original intent to find a lasting, eternal Covenant, Blood Covenant, was initiated on the very Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden by Love Himself.
Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Eve bowed her knee to the Serpent and Adam bowed his knee to both the Serpent and to Eve. In the process they passed authority (dominion) to the Devil (Serpent) and think about it, the man to the woman. The authority to activate supernatural events in the earth was lost by individual persons. In the Genesis 3:15 text above, the seed of the Serpent is fallen man, the seed of the woman is Christ Jesus from which we all spring. The authority (by deception that day and every day since) given that day was regained by Christ at Calvary. The light came and we now have the ability to see, recognize, and avoid the snares, the deceptions of the devils.
Genesis 3:21 (KJV)
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Now the Blood Covenant comes into plain view, the plan of God to redeem, to restore to Himself a family is unveiled. This was an unblemished animal that was slain and his blood spilled to cover the sins of Adam and Eve that day. The sacrifice of animals continued from that day to the Cross of Calvary on which our Savior paid the full price of redemption. We are not told in the Bible text but I suspect this was a first-born male lamb (ram) selected that day.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
