PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER
Greetings to our precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. God is so good dear ones. The Thanksgiving Holiday is behind, Christmas and the New Year are looming just ahead. Please take a few moments to share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for sharing. This has been a very different year for sure. What we have done with this year depends on our focus. Let us ask ourselves, has our focus been on the natural, flesh and blood, or the spiritual and the demonic forces that look to destroy this nation.
God did not bring this COVID-19 pestilence upon the earth, it has come by way of the destroyer, it is not the will of God that any perish. The Church are the ones who have allowed this pestilence and the Church are the only ones that can defeat this pestilence. On the other hand, what the devil (destroyer) has meant for evil God can use for good. This Ministry in partnership with others is looking get out of the box and take the war into the devils’ territory. You will also be seeing changes in my writing as we enter this new year, a new season. I am about to start another book (more on that in the coming months), republish some booklets (short reads), and we will be dropping the Saturday edition of The Three Minute Word. Now, let’s turn our attention to our teaching for today and read our primary Bible text aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:14-17 (KJV)
14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
Jesus is leaving the Judgement Seat of the Roman Tribunal upon which Pilate sat pushed by the ruling Jewish religious class. This is between 6 am and 9 am. It is interesting that verse fourteen starts with the words “the preparation of the passover” for Jesus is being prepared as our Passover Lamb.
1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: (Bold added)
Jesus is about to purge out all sin except that of rejecting Him, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. We are freewill beings, Jesus didn’t just automatically make everyone a Christian, as some believe, but made possible what was previously impossible. There is nothing separating any man or woman (any person) from salvation except their choice to follow Jesus or stay with the devil.
John 3:17-19 (KJV)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Now, let’s go back and pick up with verse seventeen of our primary text. Pilate, the Roman Governor, has handed Jesus over to the Jews and his soldiers to be crucified. The Apostle John records that Jesus carried His cross to “the place of a skull” or Golgotha. By this time Jesus is no doubt very weak physically and although He most certainly carried His own cross part of the way we see that the Apostle Matthew records that a man named Simon of Cyrene was compelled to carry the Cross some of the way.
Matthew 27:31-33 (KJV)
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
