AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Tuesday – February 9, 2021, Sh’vat 27, 5781
ETERNAL REDEMPTION
Greetings dear and precious saints of God. We are such a privileged and loved people to be a part of the Kingdom of God, and saved from the wrath to come. Thank you, Jesus, for the fullness of salvation! Please take a moment and share these teachings to expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture this week is intended to portray the Resurrected Jesus restored as the second person of the Triune God at the right hand of the Father. The picture is far from what I wanted, but after perusing the internet it is obvious artists have no idea of Jesus’ position in Heaven. Jesus is King of kings and as such is seated in Heaven at the right hand of the Father. Jesus also stands as our High Priest, our Intercessor and Advocate, before the Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit is our Intercessor in the earth. Our study of this Book of John has been wonderful thus far and we are far from done. Over the last few weeks, we have come to the Cross, which is the primary reason Jesus (the Word) came into the earth. This was the way the Counsel of Heaven chose to destroy the works of the Devil. Now Jesus is risen having taken our sin, our punishment, being made a curse in our stead, redeeming us from the curse and restoring the Blessing (Galatians 3:13-14). The first person to see the risen Jesus is Mary Magdalene and so we find her clinging to His feet just outside the sepulcher. Now, let’s dive into our lesson starting by reading our primary text aloud, yes, our loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Let’s look at the seventeenth verse in the New Living Translation.
John 20:17 (NLT)
17 “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
If seems that perhaps Mary Magdalene is clinging to the feet of Jesus and not merely touching them which is the impression given by the King James Version. In effect He is saying to her, you need to let go of me so I can to the Father. We are not told in the text or elsewhere in the Bible, that I am aware of, the exact timing of when His innocent sinless Blood was taken and applied to the Mercy Seat of Heaven in the presence of the Father. I suspect it is now, His first act following His Resurrection from the grave, Hell, and the Bosom of Abraham.
Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
The Father by the power of the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from spiritual death, physical death, and restored Him as the Second person of God. Just as the innocent blood of animals was applied to the earthly Mercy Seat by the High Priests of old so was the innocent precious Blood of Jesus applied to the Heavenly Mercy Seat once and for all time by the Lamb Himself.
Hebrews 9:11-12 (KJV)
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Now let’s take a look at a portion of the Book of Hebrews Scripture we will study over the next several days.
Hebrews 1:3-6 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Lord willing, I will pick up our study right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
