THE GREATER THINGS – PART TWENTY-NINE
Greetings to our dear brothers and sisters in Christ who follow this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. God bless you all. We are grateful for the friends of this Ministry especially those who are partners with us. No Ministry, no business operates on best wishes and fresh air. Join with us by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit as a partner. All three (faith, love, led by the Spirit) are essential for effective partnership. Now, please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with the Truth. Before we move into our study notice that on the Hebrew calendar today is Nisan one which is the first day of the first month of the Biblical (not civil) New Year. In fourteen days is Passover. For several weeks (this is the twenty-nine) I have been dealing with the works that Jesus did and commanded us to do as well, and the greater works which He also commanded we do.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Dear ones we need to quit gathering in a building we erroneously call the Church for social club activities. Dear ones we need to be about the Father’s business! The Church is the Anointed body of believers in the earth. We don’t come to Church for some emotional high, hugging, or an exuberance of activity but to build up, encourage, and comfort one another. Those former things are not bad or sin, they just cannot be our focus but a side product. The nine gifts of the Spirit are to be present and operate in abundance. The Word is to be spoken with authority and Anointing showing us the way to maturity and being just like Him.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
When the Church gathers, we should see, on a regular basis, the works Jesus did, not only there in the building but outside the building in our homes and in the market place. First of all, it is critical that all be led of the Spirit, moved with faith in God, and have love (agape) as our motivation. Prayer failures are guaranteed when we allow the traditions of men and doctrines established by demons to guide our thoughts, words, and activities. Whatever we are doing whether it be in the building which we (the Church) gather or outside, we must ask ourselves, what is the Bible model for this? We must have two or three witnesses to support all that we do in the name of Jesus (which is everything). Saying; “This is what brother or sister so and so taught or we have always done it this way” does not count. Now, let’s move back to our Isaiah sixty-one text in the King James Version of the Bible.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Let’s pick up with verse three today. It is much easier to comfort those who mourn in the Church (Zion) than those mourning in the world. Without first being saved the Holy Scriptures are foolishness to those in the world. We have Scripture to which we turn and when we receive and believe the Word of God then decree the Word of God over ourselves in faith motivated by love (obedience to God), led of the Holy Spirit we rise above the mourning. The ugliness of mourning will be replaced by our proclaiming the beauty of our God, of our salvation, rejoicing in His goodness, and exulting the name of our God. The sadness and sorrow of mourning are replaced by a rising up of the fruit of joy in our spirit man. When we start to praise our Lord (declare who He is) which is a spiritual activity, the spirit of heaviness (mourning) has to flee. The spirit of heaviness is an evil spiritual personality (demon). This turn from mourning to Anointed joy with praise to our God once again reveals us as trees of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, and all of this shows His goodness (glory).
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday and move forward into Isaiah 61:4 and a parallel Scripture in Ezekiel.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
