AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE GREATER THINGS – PART FORTY-THREE
Greetings to all, another Sunday is upon us, let us rejoice as we go to the House of the Lord. Welcome back to our Sunday blog focused on the greater works Jesus commanded. By the way Happy Father’s Day to all fathers on this special day set aside to honor father. Our move to Texas is complete, we are temporarily in an Airbnb until we find the perfect for us home. Donna arrived here on the 13th with our granddaughter, Haleigh, and our two kitties. I arrived on the 17th. We believe the Lord has the perfect place in mind for us already. Our God is so good dear ones. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to increase our reach with the Truth. Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary text we have been using and explore its origins.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
I have been teaching on this subject for some forty-three weeks. We have discussed and looked at the works that Jesus did in His earthly ministry as an Anointed of God man (Acts 10:38). If He was operating as God in the earth, He certainly would not have needed to be Anointed.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
In Him we are to operate just exactly as Jesus did in the earth. Anything the Father did through Him, He will do through us. God is no respecter of persons. Jesus told the early disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were endued with Power. This tells us just how important it is to be filled with the Holy Spirit to do the works Jesus did and the greater works.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
The writer of Mark among others tells us what that looked like.
Mark 16:19-20 (KJV)
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Listen to the Apostle Paul.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV)
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
The Lord is looking for more than wonderfully crafted speeches or spit filled zeal, He is looking for His Power to flow through us delivering those oppressed by the devil. Oh, how far we have fallen below the expectations of our Lord. The vast majority of the Church (believers) are not doing the works Jesus did say nothing about revitalizing a city. Dear brother and sister we have all authority in the earth, the very same authority (dominion) God (Elohim) gave to Adam in the beginning.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Bold added)
Man surrendered his authority to the Serpent but Jesus got it back, hallelujah.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The name of Jesus carries all authority. The word “power” in verse eighteen is authority or dominion.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday as we dive further into the basis for John 14:12.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
