THE DAUGHTER OF ZION

Greetings precious saints of the only living God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a rich and wonderful Book. I took the featured picture this morning (24th of May) out my Study window. Notice I have a beautiful lilac tree to enjoy when I am in my Study. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible. Share especially with those whom you know to be hungering and thirsting after the Word, the Kingdom, and righteousness (not only right standing but doing things His way, the right way). You might be surprised to know that many in the body of Christ are not hungering and thirsting for Him. Those hungering and thirsting for Him, who are focused on the spiritual things (Kingdom of God, ways of God) have life and peace. Those who are hungering and thirsting after the carnal or natural things of life, giving them preeminence, will have death in their lives.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
The word minded in this verse has to do with our focus. The right order in our lives, our thinking makes all the difference in our lives and the lives of those around us. Notice the order in the following verse, however, I hope you don’t think this is a verse in isolation, the whole of Scripture teaches this.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
There you have it, from the mouth of our Lord Himself. Now let’s turn our attention to the Bible Book of Isaiah and read our primary text aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing, not seeing.
Isaiah 1:7-9 (KJV)
7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
Last week we left off speaking about verse seven and how this is as accurate concerning our country today as it was their cities in the time of Isaiah. As we interpret Scripture there is frequently the obvious natural explanation but there are deeper and more significant spiritual Truths to be understood. The things we can see, hear, feel, smell, and taste are the very least important things in our lives although for the world and many in the Kingdom of God that is their world. Yes, the natural is important after all we have natural, deteriorating, mortal bodies. However, in the overarching scheme of things these are far inferior to our spiritual walk whether it be in the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of darkness. The spirit realm dominates and determines the manifestations of the physical or carnal realm. Isaiah 1:7 is the fruit of a carnally driven mindset. This is spiritual desolation, destruction, and devouring of resources by the heathen. The heathen are walking in darkness deceived and led by evil spirits.
Who is the daughter of Zion?
Isaiah 1:8 (HCSB)
8 Daughter Zion is abandoned like a shelter in a vineyard, like a shack in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.
Let’s take a look at Isaiah 1:8 in the HCSB which stands for Holman Christian Standard Bible. The immediate context is God speaking to Jerusalem concerning their physical and spiritual condition of the time, but more important than that lesson is how the Lord is pointing to the Church, the bride of Christ in our time. Christianity and the Church House’s across America are not only abandoned with regard to attendance but in Spiritual activity. For our purposes, most of the time when we see the word Zion in Scripture it is referring to the Church, the body of Christ. Let’s look at the definition of the word Zion from our text. Zion means to be conspicuous, it is the Church (militant or triumphant) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. We are to be conspicuous for good in our communities and not considered religion or entertainment but a House of Holiness and Power.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
