HAUGHTY

Greetings to the dear and precious children of the Most High God, the only Living God, the only God, period. Welcome back to this illuminating study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Before proceeding, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible. Thank you for sharing with those in your sphere of influence. God is so good; all the Word of God is absolutely wonderful news. Generally, on Thursday I feature a picture of Donna and me but today I believe led of the Holy Spirit is a picture of an abandoned factory (SAS) in Pittsfield Maine. What the Lord said is that this building is large, empty, dark, full of capacity and potential but unproductive. This describes many in the body of Christ, does it describe you or me?
Another issue that I believe the Lord has quickened to me concerns COVID-19. Can you think of a more divisive issue in the country and in the Church? Over the course of this Pandemic to this time there have been a variety of governmental emergency mandates to enhance public safety. For the most part across the country there has not been an interference with our worship of our God. Then came the vaccine. Saint and sinner alike have either embraced the vaccine, outright refused it, and of course everything in between. The same is true of the governmental mandates, we see the whole gambit of excellent compliance, no compliance, and everything in between. The world reaction and the Church are mirror images of each other. We expect division and confusion in the world for Satan is the god of this world but what about the Church. Now let us focus on the Church with one final observation for this blog. Each professing Christian and congregation have their Scriptures for what they are doing and/or profess that this is how the Lord has led them. If all in the Church are all living in obedience to all the same Scripture and are being led of the same Holy Spirit why the confusion and divisions? Could it be an issue with rightly dividing the Word of Truth and truly being led of the Spirit?
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue to read aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 3:16-18 (KJV)
16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
Are we seeing pride of life, lust of the flesh, and lust of the eye here, same as the Garden of Eden? Remember, the Lord is speaking to His people through the Prophet Isaiah and He continues to describe their current condition and the outcome of their current behavior. Is any of this going on today? It seems that the Lord at this point is focused in on the women of Zion (of the Church). Who was first to be deceived and brought sin and the curse into the earth?
1 Timothy 2:13-14 (KJV)
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
When you read the Genesis account (chapter three) of this deception of Eve by the Serpent you will find that Adam just followed the woman’s lead (he made her his god, idol worship) and entered into sin as well. Many men then (Adam, Isaiah’s time) and today fail to be the head of the family being a moral, spiritual compass for righteousness, teaching the family Matthew 6:33.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Bold added)
Have you noticed that in many Churches the majority of the congregants are women? Where are the men and why? For perhaps increased clarity let’s look at our primary verses in the Message Bible.
Isaiah 3:16-18 (MSG)
16 GOD says, “Zion women are stuck-up, prancing around in their high heels, Making eyes at all the men in the street, swinging their hips, Tossing their hair, gaudy and garish in cheap jewelry.”
17 The Master will fix it so those Zion women will all turn bald— Scabby, bald-headed women. The Master will do it.
18 The time is coming when the Master will strip them of their fancy baubles—
Although not explicitly stated the men and the women are clearing not in their place filling the roles only, they can fill according to the plan of God. I want to make it clear that doing anything to these women or anyone else they do it to themselves by rebelling against God, period. Everything has consequences, obedience to the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit, has abundance of blessing, but disobedience has an abundance of the curse. Skip down to the following verses for one consequence.
Isaiah 3:24-26 (KJV)
24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
The “sword” in verse twenty-five is the double-edged sword of the Word of God. Do we want these consequences or do we want the abundance of our Promised Land (right here and now and hereafter)?
Lord willing, I will pick up with chapter four next Monday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
