ARMOR OF GOD – PART FORTY
ORIGINAL INTENT
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to the Friday study of Gifts currently (for 40 weeks now) focused on “The Armor of God”. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of this good news. Little by little the Holy Spirit has been weaving this study together.
Isaiah 28:9-11 (KJV)
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
The ones to receive this are the ones willing to be weaned and grow precept by precept, line by line, little by little. It is also those baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire speaking in other tongues. Scripture does not lie folks, those most capable of receiving and walking in revelation knowledge are those baptized in fire. Before we move into our primary text and move forward let me remind us all that we are building the context, the foundation upon which the effective use of the Armor of God will occur. We found that we must be walking in obedience to those in authority, we are to honor one another and God. We must be walking in love (agape), in fact if you aren’t doing this forget it. We are to have a heart constantly filled with thanksgiving, proving with the Word of God every word we hear, avoid sin, and have no fellowship with darkness (Psalm One). We are to be led of the Holy Spirit, discipline our minds filling it with the thoughts of God, and walk in submission to God, to each other, and wives to husbands.
I am still dealing with the relationship between husbands and wives which is a mirror of the relationship between Christ and the Church. All submission is in line with Scripture, done as service in an attitude of selflessness, and according to Blood Covenant. Submission is always a choice we make as freewill individuals. Failure to submit in any Godly relationship will have negative consequences. When it is between us and Christ it has negative consequences for the Kingdom and opens the door to the thief in our own lives. The same is true in marriages. Strife in marriage hinders our prayers. Now let’s read our primary Bible text aloud then move along exploring God’s original intent for husbands and wives.
Ephesians 5:29-33 (KJV)
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Last Friday when we left off, I was talking about God’s original intent for husbands and wives before the fall. The fall changes everything. However, all is restored in Christ Jesus. I talked about how Adams’ physical body was made of the earth and God breathed of Himself into Adam giving him a spiritual body (spirit/soul) (Genesis 2:7). We see from the creation story that the seed for reproducing itself is within each thing created including Adam.
Genesis 1:11 (KJV)
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
A search was made for a help meet for Adam however none was found among all the creatures created (Genesis 2:19-20).
Genesis 2:18 (KJV)
18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And so, God made a help meet for Adam. First, just what is a help meet? According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary a help meet is one who surrounds, protects, aids, helps, and succours. To succour is to help in difficult situations and assist in time of difficulty. Jesus is a help meet for us so we see that it is not just the wife who is a help meet to the husband but the husband to the wife.
Hebrews 2:17-18 (KJV)
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Now, here comes the help meet, more next week.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
