SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE

Greetings precious children of God and welcome back to our study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Before we move forward, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the gospel (good news), the Truth. Thank you for sharing, you have a very important role in this Ministry. The featured picture today is of a small boy expressing himself facially before taking medicine. Is this the look on our face when we run into Scripture that goes crossways our flesh? I’m not talking about you or me of course, I’m talking about those other people (smile).
Before we (you, me, and the Holy Spirit) move into the text for today, I will talk for a moment about love. The word ‘love’ is very much abused in the English language. We profess love for God and in the same breath may say we love our dog and ice cream. We assume it is understood what we mean, but is it? Do we have the same love for our dog as God? I sure hope not!! The love I am talking about is the God kind of love (agapē/ agapaō), the love that only God and those who are born again are capable of expressing. A dead (spiritually) man can’t express the fruits of the spirit. This love is one of the fruit of the born-again spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
You have heard me define this love many times from Scripture as obedience, selflessness, and abiding by Blood Covenant. Many times, what is called love is really the expression of another fruit of the spirit like gentleness or goodness. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 11:1-3 (KJV)
1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Today I am going to pick up with the Spirit of knowledge in verse two, as it applies to the coming Messiah who has now come and us. I will continue after the following announcement.
ANNOUNCEMENT

We look forward to hearing from you and hearing about your transformation in the Kingdom of God.
The Spirit of the Lord is the rûaḥ meaning the breath or wind of God according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. As we look at the very first portion of verse two and read the following: “And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him” does this remind us of anything? What about this?
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Underline added)
And ten days later here comes the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Lord, and He came upon them just as Jesus prophesied. The same Holy Spirit that was upon the Messiah. This was necessary for Jesus for He operated in His earthly Ministry as a man just as we operate or function. He needed the Holy Spirit and we need the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. (Bold added)
Turning our attention back to Isaiah 11:2 and the word ‘knowledge’ we find that it means simply to know. However, it is beyond natural knowing but not omniscience (knowing all things). Let’s look at first use of this word.
Genesis 2:9 (KJV)
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Jesus, was given to know, have knowledge of, good and evil. That is to know that obeying the Word is good and disobeying is evil. Now
Exodus 31:1-3 (KJV)
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
We see here that a man named Bezaleel was supernaturally given knowledge in all manner of workmanship. Jesus was given knowledge concerning His purpose in the earth. Likewise, you and I dear saints have been given special knowledge to accomplish our roles in the Kingdom of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
