FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK EIGHTY-TWO
SON – AMBASSADOR – HEIR – PART FOUR

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to From the Prophets Chamber. Today I will continue with installment three teaching from the same passages of primary Scripture hopefully bring additional light to us all, a renewal of our minds. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Now let’s plunge into our primary Scriptures reading out loud. We read out loud to build our faith and because our faith pleases our Heavenly Father. In fact, it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Romans 8:17 (KJV)
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
As you know I have been dealing with the word ‘new’ in the seventeenth verse of the Second Corinthians passage. I have been establishing that we were unique in the Garden of Eden among all creatures of this creation or in eternity past. In Christ Jesus we got a significant upgrade. In Christ Jesus the Law of Sin and Death has been done away with in the sense that, unlike Adam, when we sin, we do not die spiritually immediately. We were created and are today just a little lower than God. We never will be God (capital G) however, we are already, as were Adam and Eve, gods (little g).
Last week I established that we are spirit, soul, and body and that whole is us individually. Let me reiterate at least part of that here. Man in the image of God is a three part being. At the making of man God was not a three part being in that they, all three, were spirit (and soul). It was not until Jesus the man, and Jesus Resurrected at the right hand of the Father that man became fully in the image and likeness of God. I commonly hear that the real me is my spirit man, I (my spirit man) have a soul (mind, will, and emotions), and I live in a body. Is that true? Yes, in part, in a sense, but it ignores the big picture, the unified picture. It seems to me from Scripture that we are a unified whole just like Jesus today in Heaven is Spirit, soul, and body.
As we start to transition away from dealing with the word ‘new’ to “a new creature” I want to deal with one other issue. Many take the word new and creature and say that we are not the old person, that we don’t have a healed spirit man but an all-new spirit man. An alive spirit man in place of the dead (separated from God) spirit man. Is this true? Now remember that this is being said by people who proclaim that the real you, the real me is our spirit man. If God exchanged one spirit man for another we would be a different person if I understand them correctly. Let’s look again at a Scripture we looked at earlier in this study again.
Ephesians 2:5-7 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
On the Cross Jesus’ spirit man died first then His body just like Adam in the Garden. Jesus was dead in sin (ours not His own) and so are we before salvation dead in sin. The preceding passage tells us that He was quickened or made alive and so were we in Him. The substitution idea infers that we are a different person not one who was dead to God who is now alive to God. The Spirit (not the soul) of Jesus died (wages of sin is death, He was made sin) on the Cross. That Spirit has existed been Him from eternity past. At His quickening, Resurrection He did not become a new person by way of a new Spirit but that which was dead was made alive. The same is true for us. The spirit (dead or alive) and soul we got at conception is ours for eternity.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday and we will deal with the phrase “a new creature”.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
