IN THAT DAY

Greeting dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. Today we pick up our study of the Book of Isaiah in the twenty-seventh chapter. Before we continue, please take a moment and share this teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. You have a vital role in this Ministry. The featured picture today is of the Old South Meeting House in Boston. This building was first occupied in 1670, 50 years after the signing of the Mayflower Compact (Nov 11, 1620). The Mayflower Compact (Contract or Covenant) is among the founding documents that established the United States of America as a Covenant Nation with God. There are only two in the world, the first was Israel and the second is America. America came into Covenant with God the same way you and I came into Covenant with God and that was by submitting ourselves to Him, acknowledging our dependence upon Him. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud. Is there anyone that doesn’t know why we read out loud? Is there any among us who are rebellious and are reading silently?
Isaiah 27:1-4 (TLB)
1 In that day the Lord will take his terrible, swift sword and punish leviathan, the swiftly moving serpent, the coiling, writhing serpent, the dragon of the sea.
2 In that day [of Israel’s freedom] let this anthem be their song:
3 “Israel is my vineyard; I, the Lord, will tend the fruitful vines; every day I’ll water them, and day and night I’ll watch to keep all enemies away.
4-5 My anger against Israel is gone. If I find thorns and briars bothering her, I will burn them up, unless these enemies of mine surrender and beg for peace and my protection.”
6 The time will come when Israel will take root and bud and blossom and fill the whole earth with her fruit!
The question that instantly came to my mind was; when is that day? It seems to me, “that day” is at the Second Coming of Christ.
Revelation 20:1-3 (KJV)
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
At the end of the Tribulation the surviving Jewish remnant has turned to Christ and in fact 144,000 are evangelizing the world. The armies of the earth have surrounded Jerusalem, Jesus comes down out of Heaven from the Marriage Supper of the Lamb with us following on white horses and annihilates these armies by the sword of His mouth. He then sets up His 1000-year reign in the earth and we rule and reign with Him in this time. Having said all this let’s look at when the devil is dealt with for the very last time.
Revelation 20:7-10 (KJV)
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
This and the White Throne Judgment that follows marks the end of the devil, demons, the curse, and all evil peoples in the earth. Next, we see the new heaven and new earth and the city of God descending upon the earth. Oh, what a day, and we dear ones will be there and see it all. Of these two time periods I tend to favor the first (Second Coming) for Israel will flourish in the Blessing, we see some of that today with the residual blessing even in rebellion. It is not clear that Israel will be a nation in the new heaven and the new earth. Will there be nations in the new earth or will there only be the Kingdom of God covering the whole earth? Email me and let me know what you think and why.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
