ALL FLESH SHALL SEE

Greetings dear and precious saints of the only Living God, who gave Jesus, the pinnacle of His goodness, the glory of God, the only way to the Father, the only way to Heaven. Welcome back to this awesome Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment as we are moving forward to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you expanding the reach of the good news, the Truth. There is no Truth besides that in the Holy Bible. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is another of winter in Maine. I can’t honestly say I miss it now being back in Texas. Believe me, these pictures are really all the winter one really needs. Now, let’s move into our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 40:3-8 (KJV)
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Today I will finish (Lord willing) with our Exodus 33 text below and move into the phrase “all flesh shall see”.
Exodus 33:17-23 (KJV)
17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
What is all this about “back parts” in verse twenty-three? Well, glad you asked. If someone puts their hand up in front of us it obscures our vision, we can see some but not all. So, God is saying I am going to give you clear vision. The phrase “back parts” is also translated as “time to come”. Isn’t that interesting. He ends by saying my face is turned away right now but the time is coming when you will see me face, when this promised One has come. That is to say when our sin is removed for His sake. Now, let’s look at Isaiah 40:5 and the statement that there was coming a time when all flesh would see the glory, the goodness of God, which we now know is Jesus. This are many levels of glory, goodness in and from God but the pinnacle is Jesus, the Savior.
Romans 1:20-25 (HCSB)
20 For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.
21 For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.
22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.
24 Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.
You may have heard it said that there are areas of world, people in the earth, that have not heard the message of Jesus. While it is true that many, perhaps multiplied millions, have never heard a sermon or discussion about the Savior none will have an excuse in the final judgment. Is verse twenty above Bible, is it the Truth, or are there people with no idea and go tumbling into Hell or perhaps by default of not hearing go into Heaven. God is just, He is absolute justice. God, our God, in His mercy and love will make Himself known. When He does make Himself known they make choices just like we have.
