SIN AND DEATH OBLITERATED

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our illuminating Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. This study is illuminating because of our Helper, our Teacher, the Holy Spirit and not because of me, it is because of Him. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are an important part of the Kingdom of God and this Ministry. We are also thankful for our partners in this Ministry and their role in expanding the Kingdom of God and sharing in our Grace. Please consider becoming a partner if you are not one already, but only as led of the Lord. Now, don’t forget to be reading out loud, faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God. The beautiful featured picture today was provided by Margaret Crockett and was obviously taken during the winter in Maine. Richard and Margaret Crockett have been friends for decades and are wonderful examples in the Kingdom of God for us all.
Yesterday I showed a picture of a very sleepy congregation sitting in a darkened Church. We must come out of the darkness that is so pervasive in our Churches and come fully awake in who we are in Christ Jesus and act. The traditions of men, the doctrines of demons are celebrated in the pulpit and pew alike, this must not be. Our sanctuaries are darkened and appear little different from a nightclub or rock concert. Who have we become? Let us find and speak only the Truth. Let us be diligent to receive, believe, and implement only Truth in our lives. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but all that we hear in our respective Churches is not all Truth. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 42:1-4 (NJB)
1 Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom my soul delights. I have sent my spirit upon him, he will bring fair judgement to the nations.
2 He does not cry out or raise his voice, his voice is not heard in the street;
3 he does not break the crushed reed or snuff the faltering wick. Faithfully he presents fair judgement;
4 he will not grow faint, he will not be crushed until he has established fair judgement on earth, and the coasts and islands are waiting for his instruction.
Verse one of our text starts a Messianic discussion, as I pointed out earlier this week this is written in the present tense however the first coming of Christ is still some 700 years away in time. God is not in time. This Messiah, the One we call the Christ, Jesus, will and has brought “fair judgement to the nations”. God found a man with whom He could Covenant (Blood Covenant) to open a legal door for Him to come into the earth realm and bring a Savior for all of mankind. It started with this man Abram/Abraham. He is referred to in Scripture as the father of us all, the father of faith. If He had not entered into this Blood Covenant in faith who know where we would be today. The outline of this Covenant started in Genesis 3:15 and develops in a critical way in Genesis twelve. Hopefully you know the story, the pivotal account in the whole of the Bible. The Blessing given in Genesis 1:28, lost in sin, returned in part through Abraham and in fullness through Christ. What did it all hinge on? Faith (believing the Lord being fully persuaded) and love (obeying the Lord).
Romans 4:16-18 (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
The faith and love of Abraham brought the Seed, who is Christ!
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Thank you Jesus for redeeming me, us all, from the law of sin and death, giving us the Blessing, restoring all authority, and dominion over all the curse by faith and love in the name of Jesus.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow, in the meantime celebrate our salvation!
