AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

OPENING OF BLIND EYES
Greetings dear and precious saints of God, the Lord God Almighty, Creator of everything and welcome back to this Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you to expand our reach with the Truth. Be sure you are reading out loud. The featured picture today is of my parents, Robert and Edna Wood taken many years ago. They shared the same birthday, which is today, but were two years apart in age. Both have gone on to Heaven, my Dad almost 50 years ago, and Mom 10 years ago, Dad would be 99 today and Mom 97. Birthday are irrelevant in Heaven, but Happy Birthday Mom and Dad, I love you, and Jesus give them a big hug for me please. Now, let’s turn our attention to our main Bible text continuing to read out loud. You know why.
Isaiah 42:5-8 (KJV)
5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
As you know we have been focused the last few days on verse six which will continue today as well as take a peek at verse seven. Let’s take a look at these verses in the Message Bible as we start our study.
Isaiah 42:6-7 (MSG)
6 “I am GOD. I have called you to live right and well. I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe. I have set you among my people to bind them to me, and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations,
7 To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light: opening blind eyes, releasing prisoners from dungeons, emptying the dark prisons.
Jesus sealed the Blood Covenant initiated with Abram and recorded for us way back in Genesis chapter twelve. Since that awful day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden the world was engulfed in darkness and Satan became the God of this world and remains so to this day. What Jesus, the Cross, and the Resurrection gave us was absolute dominance over demons and over the earth backed by the Holy Spirit (blessing) just like Adam. Of course, there is much more but for our purposes today we can rejoice in these things. This glorious light that came in the person of Jesus and continues in the earth through us is designed to open blind (spiritual and physical) eyes. Once we see spiritual Truth the path out of dungeons and prisons is clear. The following passage is lengthy but I think well worth reading, studying, and meditating upon.
John 1:1-12 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Jesus told the Samaritan woman that salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22). Indeed, the lineage and Blood Covenant that brought Jesus into the earth was of the Jews starting with Abram. We are or the Seed of Abraham who was the Father of us all, Jew and Christian alike. Let’s direct our attention to verse twelve above. Aren’t you glad, I know I am, I received Him? His coming gave to every person the power (the right, the authority) to be a son of God. We have entrance into the Kingdom of God by believing on or in that name, the name above every name, Jesus.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. In the meantime, remember that we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
