THE THREE MINUTE WORD
Thursday – August 10, 2023, Av 23, 5783
Greetings dear and precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in the faith, this common salvation. Welcome back to this enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. The study is not enlightening because of me, but because of Him, the Teacher. Please take a moment and share this teaching by every means available to you. The sharing is very important. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is from Becky’s Diner in Portland Maine last November. A wonderful time with Donna’s family, now my family also.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah. Continue (not start) to read out loud.
Isaiah 44:1-5 (KJV)
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
Have you noticed down through this Bible Book and as you study other Books that God is always laying our His promises (which have no element of maybe in them) before His people and all too often they turn back to the world. Time after time they choose the ways of the world which are the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons. What about you and me? Could we be making those awful mistakes and not even realize it. Certainly! When we don’t study to show ourselves approved of God (not man) and learn by His leadership to rightly divide the Word of God we find ourselves being devoured by the devils.
2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
We must be good Bereans and study to be sure what we are hearing is the Truth.
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV)
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Does this describe you and me? Now, once again back to this third verse of our text.
Isaiah 44:3 (KJV)
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
The “seed” here in this verse is Jesus, the coming Messiah and He, the Messiah, the Seed will return the Blessing to those who will receive Him, His offspring.
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The Blessing is back through faith in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Christ was the promised Seed, Isaac was a stepping stone, of Abraham, and we are heirs of all that was promised Abraham now in Christ Jesus. The Apostle Peter speaks of this pouring out of the Word, the Spirit, and the Blessing once again available to all.
Acts 2:16-18 (KJV)
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
