Happy New Year to one and all especially to those of the household of faith. Welcome back our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book full of warnings and abundant hope. Please take a moment and share this teaching, all teachings, as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Please don’t forget that I have several books available to help us be more like Him. These books are available on Amazon or our website, the links are listed below. As we enter this year let’s each one asks ourselves if we are in our place and are we occupying our assigned responsibility. A day of judgment is coming and it is coming soon when we must give an accounting. Having said the sinner’s prayer is not going to cut it. I am not talking the thief on the cross and deathbed salvations. I am talking about people “saved” for 10, 20, 30 or more years and have been treading water so to speak. Be sure you are reading out loud, yes, out loud. Here is a sobering passage.
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Most whom we see every week in Church say Lord, Lord yet we see here that some are not even saved, never were. Jesus goes on to explain the dividing point.
Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV)
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Am I, are you, hearing the sayings of Jesus and doing them? Or, perhaps we have heard His sayings but are not doing them. Perhaps we have chosen other words like Eve. How careful must we be? Let us make our election sure. Read this very carefully, especially verses 10 and 11, however, they are all extremely important.
2 Peter 1:5-11 (KJV)
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Verse 11 is a large part of the prize for which we all labor, an abundant entrance into heaven if by the grave or the Rapture. Well, I didn’t get to the Isaiah text but it seems the Lord wants a stern admonition to start the year. This will be a big year of monumental events, changes. Please take a moment and review our Isaiah text and hopefully the Lord will have me pick up right there tomorrow.
Isaiah 49:1-5 (KJV)
1 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4 Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
