Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. One cannot study this Bible Book or for that matter much of the Bible without coming away with the knowledge that man has a freewill and makes decisions to his detriment or benefit. God will not control our decisions and the devil cannot. Please take a moment and share this, and all, teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. These teachings are going all over the world dear ones, be a part of that. We have readers in eastern Europe, western Africa, Central America and throughout the United States. The featured picture was provided by Joe Getchell Jr a faithful man of God. This man takes really beautiful pictures.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:1-5 (NIV)
1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
2 look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.
3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
The Lord through His Prophet Isaiah continues to implore His people who are pursuing righteousness, not those who are not, and not the world, to listen to Him. This pursuing of righteousness involves not just being in right standing but looking with all of one’s heart to do everything, nothing excluded, God’s way. Ordinarily we think of the rock as Jesus but in this instance that does not seem to be the case as we go into verse two. The rock and the quarry are referring to Abraham and Sarah. As I have pointed out many times one cannot separate Abraham from Jesus. No Abraham, no Jesus. Be reminded of this verse.
Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The Seed, who is Jesus, came through the obedience (love/faith/hope) of Abram/Abraham. I have often wondered how many people God approached before Abram/Abraham. And it wasn’t like Abram was obedient speedily. God is very patient and diligent to get His purposes accomplished among a rebellious and impatient people. Is this true today in any of our lives? Has God asked us to do things that took us forever and a day to obey? Have we ever run out of patience and jumped out ahead of God? Have we ever had a better idea, a better plan? The Jewish people, the first Blood Covenant people were birthed out of Abraham and Sarah bringing forth the Messiah who brought forth the Church making those who believe on Christ one. Jew and Gentile are now one in Christ Jesus. With the coming of Christ, the Jew cannot remain apart to experience salvation. Salvation is of the Jew, for Jew and Gentile alike, there is no salvation apart from Jesus.
John 4:22 (KJV)
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
