Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. One cannot study this Bible Book or for that matter much of the Bible without coming away with the knowledge that man has a freewill and makes decisions to his detriment or benefit. God will not control our decisions and the devil cannot. Please take a moment and share this, and all, teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. These teachings are going all over the world dear ones, be a part of that. We have readers in eastern Europe, western Africa, Central America and throughout the United States. The featured picture was provided by Joe Getchell Jr a faithful man of God. This man takes really beautiful pictures.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:1-5 (NIV)
1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
2 look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.
3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
We have just come the first two verses where God is reminding those of His people who are pursuing Him that they sprang from Abraham and Sarah. They are to look to them as an example. The account of Abraham and Sarah is truly a story of hope, faith, and love. Notice that when God directs their attention to Abraham and Sarah, He did not point out any of their shortcomings. God simply points out that Abraham was alone when He called him and now, he is many. I have taught on the life of Abram/Abraham many times.
I will say again that the account of Abraham starting in Genesis 11 and the testing of Abraham and Issac on Mount Moriah Genesis 22 are the pivotal chapters in all of Scripture. Superseded only by the coming of the Messiah (Jesus), the path to the Cross, victory in Hell, the taking of His Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven and the release of the Holy Spirit back into the earth. The Holy Spirit has always been in the earth in a measure. But before the Resurrection of Jesus, He was not released legally to freely manifest, to be available to individuals for salvation, or as a conduit of His Power. The Anointing in those times a few exceptions was upon the High Priest, the Prophet, and the King.
As we move into verse three the Lord is promising to comfort His people, the ones who are pursuing righteousness and seeking (active with purpose) Him. Notice it is future tense. Israel has certainly enjoyed times when it flourished but only for short times. Israel ceased to be a nation in 70 A.D. and did not again become a nation until May 14, 1948. Since that time this verse has been fulfilled in a measure but I don’t believe we will see the fulness of this until the Millennium.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. The Lord is so good.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
