IN HIM, OF GOD
Monday – March 27, 2017

Good morning too many and good afternoon or evening to many others reading this edition of The Three Minute Word. God is so good. I trust that you have had a productive and relaxing weekend. There is a tremendous satisfaction associated with the knowledge that we are about the Father’s business, advancing the Kingdom of God. Remember, God did not call any of us to be right out straight, Jesus said that His yoke was easy and His burden light. If any of us are looking at our schedules and saying; “you have got to be kidding this is not easy or light” we are most likely out of the will of God. Many of us are doing ‘good’ things that God never assigned to us and therefore we are diverted from the will of God and perhaps we are even doing damage to the Kingdom of God. Now, I will get back to our Bible Study from the book of Ephesians.
Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
As the Apostle Paul is winding down his letter to the saints and faithful in Christ Jesus at Ephesus and in this generation he gives a command. That command from the Throne of God for them and us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Dear brother and sister we are strong in the Lord, the one whom we choose to make of highest authority in our lives, only when we are submitted to Him and Him alone. In our submission ‘the power of his might’ can flow. This resurrection power cannot flow when we are being our own god or we have chosen another god giving someone or something a higher place of authority than the only living God in our lives.
As we move into Ephesians 6:11 we find the command to:
“Put on the whole armour of God”. Remember Ephesians is the tenth book of the New Testament and ten is the number of responsibility, six (chapter) is the number of man, and eleven can be linked to heavenly things, alignment, judgment and/or disorder. In this case we see because it is a command that it is our (man’s responsibility) to align with God for the attainment of Heavenly things or Heaven’s goals which we must adopt as our own goals. A part of the whole picture that will bring the attainment of Heaven’s goals is for us to “put on the whole armour of God”. Putting on part of the armour will not bring victory and advance the Kingdom of God. We must recognize and confess that it is the armour of God which we have and it is now our armour. (I am spelling the word ‘armor’ by the old English spelling of ‘armour’ because that is how it is spelled in our Bible text.)
When we were in the world we were naked and vulnerable to the devils attacks at his will. We had no spiritual protection of our own. Thank God many of us had and have family members and others who have prayed, decreed, on our behalf, before the Throne of God extending the shield of mercy around about us. That prayer may have been generations before however God will honor the prayers of His people to a thousand generations. O what a Covenant keeping God (Love) we have. Before we were born it was His plan and will to extend mercy to us and then even when we were reviling Him, kicking against the pricks. Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus, and Thank you Holy Spirit.
This is God’s armour we are putting on, so why does it fit us? Unlike the various articles of clothing in the natural which may or may not fit another this armour of God will fit whomever is born again and choses to put this armour on. We must choose to “Put on” this armour. It is available but we must make a conscious choice to put it on just as we do our natural wardrobe for any given day. This is spiritual armour and spiritual things are utilized by appropriating the thoughts and words of God by faith. When we study the word ‘armour’ from our text the idea conveyed is that these are instruments that when all are taken or utilized we can be busy about our assignment for the Kingdom of God. Otherwise there is a 100% likelihood that much of our business has nothing to do with the Kingdom of God and is about us dealing with the wiles of the devil, the curse, by natural means. Guess how good that is going to go and has been going?
Starting tomorrow before we move into each aspect of the armour of God I am going to focus on the little phrase “of God”.

Remember that I have published two books recently. First was the book
titled “Temptation – The Battle for our Thoughts”. Perhaps this book will illuminate temptation in ways you have not imagined. Second is the book titled “And God Said – The Creator’s Provision”. This book illuminates the will of God from the beginning. These books are available at Amazon Books.
