ANGELS, THE SON, AND US

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus from The Three Minute Word publication and welcome back to our Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. God is so good brothers and sisters. Those who may be reading this and are not of the family of God, not brothers and sisters with us in Christ Jesus, change that right now. Meditate the following Scripture and then make it a reality of your life.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Praise the Lord for new brothers and sisters who just arrived in the Kingdom of God. Now the Word of God will make way more sense and it will be like a fire within. You are now a child of God on your way to becoming a son. Let’s get to our Bible Study and our primary text from the Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 1:4-6 (KJV)
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
This passage of Scripture which starts off this wonderful Book of Hebrews has to do with the resurrection and restoration of Jesus, the Word, once again as God by the Father through the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus ratified The Blood Covenant (New Covenant or Testament) there are many wonderful things that have to do with us the saints that were not possible. Now, in Him all is restored and more. We will be discussing these wonderful realities as we progress in our study. When we finished last Friday, I was discussing Hebrews 1:4 and how Jesus was restored to a position much higher, incomparable to any angel (holy or unholy) and that His name, the name of Jesus, was above, far above, the name of any angelic being. We also discussed that because we are in Him we are participants with Him in exercise of all authority and power by the use (power of attorney) of the name of Jesus as led of the Spirit of God. On first read and contemplation this is mind boggling but it is the Truth. It is our reality. When will we step out of our defeated fantasy land into the overwhelming victory obtained by Christ?
Hebrews 1:4 (AMP)
4 [Taking a place and rank by which] He Himself became as much superior to angels as the glorious Name (title) which He has inherited is different from and more excellent than theirs.
Apparently back in this historic time there was a tendency to angel worship. Angels are Jesus’ servants and ours. At no time are we to worship (submit) to angels. If or when we do, we have chosen another god. Angels are to be respected but they are a tool in the Hand of God and our hand to accomplish the things of God. Let’s review the following Scriptures.
Colossians 2:18 (KJV)
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Just a few verses ahead of our current study we will find that the angels are to bow in worship of Jesus.
Hebrews 1:6-7 (KJV)
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
The holy angels worship (submit) God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), they are ministers (servants) of God. Angels are spiritual beings created by God for His purposes. Angels do not have a physical body like we do. The composition of angels is the stuff, they are not of like kind with God.
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Our physical bodies were created from the dust of the earth (dirt) and the LORD God breathed of Himself into that body and we became a living soul. Angels have no authority in the earth aside from delegated authority because they are not of the earth. Mankind was given authority in the earth from the beginning because we are of the earth. The angels obey Him and us to accomplish the purposes of the Kingdom of God, the purposes of God.
Hebrews 1:13-14 (KJV)
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
The answers to the questions posed in the preceding passage should be obvious to us the readers. In case there is a confusion as to the proper answers; at no time has God invited an angel to sit at His right hand, and at no time has He offered to make the enemies of God a footstool for angels. Instead they are to minister (servants of God and born-again persons) on behalf of the heirs of salvation. The heirs of salvation dear saints of God are you and me, thank you Jesus!
