RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
Wednesday – October 25, 2017

Our featured picture today is more donkey pictures with a water trough in the foreground and a few of our cattle in the distance. That was a wonderful season in our life that God allowed and blessed however now we are in a season that is just as blessed and ordained of God. I have spent the last few days teaching about the doctrine of the laying on of hands (milk). You may remember a picture a few weeks/months ago of President Trump in the Oval Office with several spiritual leaders laying hands on him and the uproar and confusion that ensued. Our President and all of the spiritual leaders that He has and will assemble around him need the Anointing to guide them in draining the swamp, there are many wolves in sheep clothing. It is my hope that any who had questions or confusion in this area concerning the laying on of hands have had the question answered and the confusion eradicated. I will now move forward, first let us read our primary text from the wonderful Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 6:1-3 (KJV)
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Today I will move forward with a discussion of the “resurrection of the dead”. I will establish it as an Old Testament doctrine as well as a New Testament doctrine, as our text says one of the “principles of the doctrine of Christ”. First, I will review a couple of Old Testament references concerning resurrection.
Isaiah 26:19 (KJV)
19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Ezekiel 37:13-14 (KJV)
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
In the course of Scripture, we find persons who have been raised from the dead and others like our Savior who attained the resurrection from the dead. Those raised from the dead like Jesus’ friend Lazarus lived to die again. However, Jesus and the Old Testament saints raised with Him following the Crucifixion were resurrected from the dead.
Matthew 27:50-53 (KJV)
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
The difference between being raised from the dead and being resurrected is that the resurrected have uncorrupted bodies like unto Jesus or Adam and like we shall soon have.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 (KJV)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 John 3:2 (KJV)
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Because we are in Christ Jesus, we have entered into the Blood Covenant. Whatever the Father did for Jesus (The Word) He is also willing to do and will do for us. Our future is nothing but wonderful on steroids! Now let’s see how this came down to us from the Old blood Covenant which was Jesus concealed to the New Blood Covenant which is Jesus revealed.
Exodus 3:6 (KJV)
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
God, Elohim (Jehovah, Word, Spirit) says I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and they are long dead meaning that God sees them as alive, resurrected from the dead. Temporally at the time this was spoken to Moses these men were in Abraham’s Bosom however today they are in Heaven just as we will be one day as whole uncorrupted persons. God calls things that be not as though they are. Look at what Jesus had to say about this some fifteen hundred years later.
Matthew 22:31-32 (KJV)
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Remember it is only because of Jesus that the resurrection is possible at all. Listen to what Jesus tells Martha about her brother and His friend, Lazarus.
John 11:23-26 (KJV)
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Thank you, Jesus!!
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
