THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND GOATS – PART FOUR
Thursday – February 8, 2018

We are on the downhill side of this work week and will continue pushing into our wonderful Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. We discovered in our review of the primary text from chapter ten of Hebrews that God was and is talking to the Hebrews and us about one particular Feast of the Lord. That Feast is one of the three fall feasts called The Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur. The Holy Spirit said to me that this would be a good time to once again discuss the Feasts of the Lord. We, not just the Jews (Hebrews), are commanded to celebrate these Feasts of the Lord forever, but they are ignored and forgotten by the Church. Before we plunge into the Feast of Weeks also known as the Feast of Pentecost let’s review our primary text once again.
Hebrews 10:1-4 (KJV)
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Verse one of our text refers to “the law having a shadow of good things to come” and that sacrifices were “offered year by year continually” with no hope they “should take away sin”. It is fifty days from the Resurrection (our Firstfruit) of Christ until the Day of Pentecost which is the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost. Likewise, Moses came off the Mount with the Law fifty days after the crossing of the Red Sea. So, the Feast of Pentecost celebrated by the Jews (Hebrews) celebrated the giving of the law. We in the Church don’t seem to have any knowledge of this and that on that same day Grace was given back to mankind (Acts 2:1-4). Contrary to some popular teachings the Law remains vital even to us, the Church. They, the Old Testament saints, were not able to keep the law for they did not have the Spirit (Grace) of God (our Helper). We can keep the law for we have the Helper, the One who leads us into and teaches us all the Truth. We are not under or at the mercy of the law but we are under Grace (by choice) who helps us to keep the law. We are not to practice the remembrance or consciousness of sin for our sin is gone not just covered over.
The Day of Pentecost is of indescribable importance to the Church, it is the day the Blessing returned to the earth. The Blessing is the Holy Spirit. The Blessing is the empowerment of God for mankind to accomplish all of his assignments. Let’s listen in to what Jesus had to say to His disciples before the Ascension.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

If this was important for them do you suppose it is important for us? This power is wonder working power, it is the power to do all that Jesus did and more (John 14:12). There was fire on the mountain at Sinai and there was fire in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Thank you, Father, thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit that we are in a time when all is restored, we only await the redemption of our mortal bodies. This is a jubilee let us hear it, receive it, believe it, speak it, and experience it in the name of Jesus!
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Wow, the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus, what a deal! We know right off the bat that Abraham was rich, healthy, and famous. Abraham looked ahead and by faith partook in our Covenant. Faith reaches outside of time and space to accomplish all the will of God. Our Covenant gives us no less.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
