THE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD
Monday – March 5, 2018

It has been awhile since I have featured the buffalo we used to have at our ranch in Texas so here they are once again. For you ladies who think you might be having a bad hair day, take a look at Eve (on left). You may recall our buffalo were named Adam and Eve. We had these buffalo for over ten years, it was fun, and certainly unique. Welcome back to this wonderfully faith building Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews for those who chose to value the Word of God far above all else. First let’s read our primary text aloud, let the images of the Kingdom fill our spiritual sight as these powerful Words are reviewed and become a part of each one of us.
Hebrews 10:22-27 (KJV)
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Last week I left off with verse twenty-two and the discussion that faith is always a necessary component of fulfilling our Kingdom of God mandates. We must have a true heart or one might say a heart that is renewed with the Word of God and a heart after God or we might say a heart that thinks like God. The word translated “heart” is the middle man or decision maker in our mind which is a part of our soul and connected to our spirit. All things manifest in the physical realm have their origins in the spirit realm. The words of the Old Covenant were confirmed with innocent animal blood which never really took away the sins of the Old Testament saints. Their sins were only covered for a season, requiring repeated sacrifices of innocent blood so they were always conscious of sin or evil. Our Covenant however is confirmed by the precious Blood of Jesus which obliterates our sin removing the need for sin consciousness, one sacrifice good for eternity.
Thank you, Father, that under the New Covenant confirmed with the priceless Blood of Christ our sins are blotted out, expunged, obliterated. Moreover, our spirit man is quickened (made alive to God), and we have the indwelling Holy Spirit to lead us in all righteousness. We talked about the sprinkling of the blood of these innocent animals upon the people (Exodus 24:7-8) confirming the words of the covenant. Before and upon the Cross Jesus was washed in His Own Blood. In Him we are also washed in that Blood, His blood is upon us just as the blood of those innocent animals was on God’s people of old. In addition, we have been given the Holy Spirit who is the earnest (guarantee or down payment) that the promise of mortality being swallowed up by immortality is sure. In the meantime, we continually wash our physical bodies with the spoken Word of God. The spoken Word of God is medicine to all of our flesh (Proverbs 4:22).
2 Corinthians 5:4-5 (AMP)
4 For while we are still in this tent, we groan under the burden and sigh deeply (weighed down, depressed, oppressed)—not that we want to put off the body (the clothing of the spirit), but rather that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal (our dying body) may be swallowed up by life [after the resurrection].
5 Now He Who has fashioned us [preparing and making us fit] for this very thing is God, Who also has given us the [Holy] Spirit as a guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].
I would like to bring something else into our thinking about the blood and the covenant. Under the Old Covenant the Lord made the point many times that the life of the flesh is in the blood.
Genesis 9:4 (KJV)
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
The blood of these innocent animals was a stopgap looking forward to the Blood of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus has restored all things including eternal life for our spirit (now ours) and body (coming at the Catching Away/Resurrection). The blood of those innocent animals provided life in that when they died they did not go into Hell proper but into Abraham’s Bosom awaiting the Messiah. Tomorrow, I will move forward into verse twenty-three.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
