THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT
Thursday – September 6, 2018, Elul 26, 5778
Thank you, Father for the Holy Bible, to bring us to the Kingdom and cause us to be family and live like family by faith. I am thankful for each person that partners with this ministry and each one that is a friend of this ministry. God is so good. If I reach one and the life of one is changed that may represent my whole assignment and I can be blameless before the Father. Thank you for rejoining this study of the Book of John. Let’s read aloud our primary text and them dive right into this empowering Word.
John 1:10-14 (KJV)
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Our text starts by telling us that Christ Jesus, the Word, was in the world, that He made the world, however the world did not know who He was. The Greek word translated to English as “world” is “kosmos” referring to all created matter, the orderly arrangement of that matter, and even the persons who inhabit that matter, in particular the earth. You may recall when Jesus referred to the fact that although we may be in the world (this orderly arrangement) we are not of the world. All that has been created came by way of the Word (the person who is the Word and the spoken word).
John 17:15-16 (KJV)
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
The orderly arrangement of this creation is maintained and held together by the power of the Word of God (Hebrews 1:3). Even the human systems or seven pillars of society were initially established by God but are now seriously perverted by the ruler of the world known as Satan. You and I however are in these pillars on assignment, the closer we are to being like Jesus the brighter our light and the greater the flow of Anointing from and through us to others around us. For those of you who may have never heard of these seven pillars established by God, present in the earth and present in Heaven let us review.
Proverbs 9:1 (KJV)
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
These pillars include; family, religion, finance, education, business, entertainment, and information technology. Right now, the devil and those with a secular world view are dictating the values and operation of these pillars. Let me reassure you precious saints of God that America is a Christian nation, we were founded on the sure foundation of Holy Scripture for the purpose of showing the world the glory (goodness) of God and promoting the Christian faith. That is the mission of America in Covenant with God and that is our overarching mission in Covenant with God in Christ Jesus. The other paramount reason for the existence of America is to bless and preserve Israel.
John 1:10 tells us that the world knew not the Lord although He had made the world. Let’s take a moment and look at Bible Numerology for a moment concerning this verse. John is the fourth Book of the New Testament and four is a number for light, authority, and power. Jesus came as the light of the world, He was the Light and by His work at Calvary and the Resurrection we are now the light of the world and have regained authority and power. Chapter one, the number one is the number of unity. Being one with God again, was also bought by our precious Savior. Finally, the number ten is the number of responsibilities, ours and His. Our Heavenly Father has set a huge banquet table before us by His own will before the foundation of the world however it is our choice, our responsibility to exercise faith and partake of this luxurious table. The door of entry (the way) to the banquet room is our Lord Jesus.
As we go to verse eleven we find the sad commentary which is true to this day which is that when He came to His own (Jews/Hebrews) they did not receive Him. This of course remains true however the day is coming after judgment when they will recognize Christ Jesus as the Messiah, and God will remove their sin. From the day of Abraham to this very day God has never stopped doing this people good as they would allow Him.
Romans 11:26-27 (KJV)
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
