BREAD FROM HEAVEN
Wednesday – January 30, 2019, Sh’vat 24, 5779
Greetings and welcome back to this wonderful and powerful Bible Study from the Book of John. Our God is so good. We have been talking about the Bread of Life and the Blood of Jesus. The featured picture on the left is the natural bread that only sustains physical life temporarily but on the right is the bread that provides spiritual life. This spiritual life is life as God knows life forever. The other wonderful part of this Covenant is an uncorrupted physical body at the Resurrection. Now let us read our primary Bible text aloud.
John 6:57-61 (KJV)
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
As we move forward let me make one further point about the flesh and blood of Jesus. When we eat physical food, it is assimilated throughout the physical body and used as needed and excess is even stored. It does nothing for the spirit man however. On the other hand, the Word of God not only strengthens the spirit man but in turn strengthens the physical man. Consider the following Scripture to this point.
Proverbs 4:20-24 (KJV)
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
Did you know this before? Do you believe this? Will you choose to believe (develop faith) this, decree it over yourself, doubt not, and receive it? Remember real genuine faith is in action when the desired Biblical result is the only possible outcome. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17) so notice verse twenty above. The number twenty (20) in Scripture is the number of deliverances. Verse twenty-one sounds a lot like what the Lord told Joshua before Jericho.
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Did God directly and independent of Joshua make his way prosperous or did Joshua’s obedience give God the authority to show Joshua how to be prosperous? When Joshua meditated on the Word day and night and actually did what he read he moved into an anointed supernatural life. And so, it is the same in Proverbs chapter four above. Notice in the Proverbs reference that the Words of God are not only life to the physical body but change the heart (mind) from thinking and speaking death to thinking and speaking life. Verse twenty-three reminds us to be diligent with the Word of God. Then in verse twenty-four comes the warning that is heard over and over in Scripture which is to not be thinking, saying, and doing stuff contrary to Scripture. Get far away from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and stick with the tree of life, the tree of good, Jesus is that tree.
As we are coming to the end of todays teaching Jesus again makes the point that He is not talking about physical bread, He is not talking about the Manna in the wilderness but the bread that gives eternal life. Jesus is that bread which brings, gives, eternal life. The sacrifice of Jesus paid the price of sin and established a jubilee for all mankind who would choose Him. Don’t you just love the Word of God. Make that full commitment to Him and your life will go from mediocre to extraordinary, supernatural. Let me simplify this, if our life is not extraordinary, supernatural, clearly a cut about the natural people around us we have not made and done that full commitment. Life as our Lord designed it to be is a witness beyond compare for all to see.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
