DEATH OR LIFE OUR CHOICE
Wednesday – February 6, 2019, Adar A 1, 5779
Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this wonderfully powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God is so good to give us clarity of His Word and spell out the wonderful life He has planned for us from the foundation of the world. Has the above featured picture ever happened in your life? Do you suppose these two are speaking words of death or of life? Of course, the question is silly, there is no life here. Each and everyone of us must subject our thoughts and words to a very fine Scriptural, Spirit monitored filter in our day to day interactions and with the one with whom we are intimate. We have to practice not letting our emotions take control. Emotions can be wonderful but they can also take us into the ditch when we do not regulate them according to the Word of God. Our emotions like our thoughts are not beyond our control, they are our emotions, they are our thoughts. This is what having a sound mind is all about.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
A “sound mind” is a disciplined, controlled mind. We chose to speak death or life. So, let’s now go back to the following passage where we left off yesterday.
Deuteronomy 30:14-19 (KJV)
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Just as in the Proverbs 18:21 Scripture, who is in charge of all the death and life in our lives? Is it God? No! Is it we ourselves? Yes! Get that down inside for it will be life and you will no longer see yourself as a bystander or a hapless victim pulled along in life by unseen forces. God has set a scrumptious table, paid for by the precious Blood of Christ, but we choose what to take from that table. Are we choosing death or are we choosing life? Perhaps we are choosing death sometimes and life sometimes. Overall, we see chaos, death, or perhaps a steady state without real abundance in our life nor a swift downward spiral to various kinds of death. Of course, the devil is happy with any of our death choices or our habit of speaking an admixture, and God is grieved, even frustrated by our choices. For a moment back to the preceding Scripture, God is telling them and us, you have my Scripture, you have the guaranteed roadmap of copious abundance or scarcity, what will you chose. God has given us choice, we are freewill creations by Gods design, for life and good or death and evil. Have you read and really meditated verses 16 – 19 above. We chose, there is death (not just physical but relationships and so on) and evil (the curse) in our lives. Many times, this is due to ignorance, an ignorance that is maintained by religious tradition and a lack of diligence on our part individually. We chose death or life with our thoughts, words, and actions.
The course of our life is being recorded in the earth and in Heaven. People around us in the earth can plainly see what we have chosen and so can Heaven and a record is being made. We however can change the record, have all restored even years of our lives by the thoughts we choose, the words we choose (Words of life), and the actions we take. This is the Word of God, you have read it for yourself, it is not distorted by me or anyone else to shape it to what we think it should be, but what it really is, will we receive it. Receiving it means we will change and as we do our lives will change dramatically. Before we end for today let’s once again read the primary text for our study aloud.
John 6:63-66 (KJV)
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Lets each one of us in our hearts determine to speak life which enables Holy Spirit (and Holy Angels) to act and have a supernatural life, and to cast away words of death. Words of death enable the evil forces about us, causes Holy Spirit and the Holy Angels to stand down, and allow the curse by our choice to enter our lives. Let’s get serious bother and sister and enter into the wonderful abundant provisions of the Lord.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
