THE SPIRIT QUICKENETH
Tuesday – February 5, 2019, Sh’vat 30, 5779
Greetings dear partners and friends of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication and welcome back to these powerful teachings from the Book of John. Isn’t our God just so wonderful?! We have the light of the Holy Scripture to guide us in our path, which is the blessing laden path the Lord has chosen and made available to us. If we stumble in the dark laden down with financial poverty, poor health, and other aspects of the curse, it is our choice. I know this is hard to receive but it is Bible front to back. It is in our power (authority) and our power alone to change our present and to change our future in accordance with the will of God which is always abundance overflowing. I know that modern religion makes us the hapless bystander, the poor victim with the promise that God has it all in hand, that we have no part to play apart from hanging on, and that God is working all this mess out to our good. Really!? That is a giant load of (I’ll use a nice Bible word) dung! Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary Bible text for today and read it aloud putting it in our eyes, our mouth, and in our ears. Right now, before you read, do you have any idea what you are going to do with the Truth available to you in this teaching? Focus my dear friend and make a quality decision (unalterable) that it will change your thoughts, your words, your life and the life of all who come in contact with you and for whom you speak into their lives.
John 6:63-66 (KJV)
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
As we focus on verse sixty-three Jesus tells us as plainly as it can be said that the natural things of our flesh have no lasting profit, they are temporal, and sustains our natural physical life for a very brief season. Let’s take a look at the Passion Bible translation.
John 6:63 (PassionNTPsa)
63 “The Holy Spirit is the one who gives life, that which is of the natural realm is of no help. The words I speak to you are Spirit and life. But there are still some of you who won’t believe.”
As I have heard a well-known preacher say, it would take a real good theologian to confuse us as to what Jesus said and meant. Now, let’s break this down a little further so we can see the mechanism of how this works or the workings under the hood so to speak. Jesus tells us that His Words were spirit and they brought life (God kind of life). Let us remind ourselves that Jesus told us that He only said what the Father said (this is a pattern for us), and He only did what He saw the Father do (also a pattern for us), and the Father (by agency of Holy Spirit) did the works. So, when Jesus spoke the Word of the Father, the Holy Spirit went into action and made them come to pass. This is not a willy nilly thing, for example in the case of another person being healed that person has to have faith for healing. Faith combined with the Anointing (Holy Spirit) brings a desired result. This is how it works with us as well, nothing has changed since God has existed (eternity). The Holy Spirit is the only spirit that can give life and He only acts and gives that life when a person in the earth has first spoken in faith, in love, focused on the hope. As we move forward consider the following passages. One is quite lengthy but well worth reading and reflecting on. Read it as written and in the full counsel of Scripture and not with old religious eyes.
Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Death and life in our lives is in the power of our tongues not God’s tongue, and not anyone else’s tongue. We and we alone are responsible for all death, and all life in our personal lives. When I say personal lives, I am talking about you and me, one person, not wives, husbands, children and so on however we can have life changing impacts on others with our God directed words and intercession (as a priest of God). Now, let’s turn our attention to the following passage, read it and meditate upon it, and I will pick up here Lord willing tomorrow.
Deuteronomy 30:14-19 (KJV)
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
