TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART TWENTY-EIGHT
WHAT ABOUT BINDING AND LOOSING?
Saturday – July 27, 2019, Tamuz 24, 5779
Greetings dear friends and partners of this ministry (Eastern Gate Ministries International) and The Three Minute Word publication and welcome back to this Saturday series separating Truth from fiction. Consider meditating the following Scripture. You have a vital role with us in the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 3:6-9 (KJV)
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
Isn’t God just so good? Let’s take a moment to just consider for His goodness to us. The very fact that we are not on our way to Hell for eternity is certainly something we can rejoice about day in and day out. What about the people that surround you, who love you, who build you up, encourage, and comfort you? I am not talking about those who bring drama and conflict into your life, from those flee. Now, let’s turn out attention to the question of binding and loosing according to the Word. We will look at two passages in regard to this important topic. I will present the first passage from the Amplified Bible. I seems to me that the Truth is more easily gleaned from the Amplified.
Matthew 16:18-19 (AMP)
18 And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.
Each of us and Peter at that time are sometimes described as unique stones (not uniform bricks) in the Kingdom, comprising the Church. Listen to the Apostle when he writes an epistle later.
1 Peter 2:5 (KJV)
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Sometimes in each of our lives individually and in the Church at large it seems that the powers of Hell are overpowering but it is a deception. Neither now nor ultimately can they overpower us or the Church (change our destiny without our cooperation). Except by deception are they able to exercise control over people, saint or sinner. God will not exert control over people and the devils cannot exert control over people. God deals with us according to love looking for a willing heart, obedience to the Word, observance of the Blood Covenant, and a selfless attitude. We are the ones in the earth with authority on both the natural and the supernatural levels. Whatever is forbidden or illegal in Heaven we can declare as forbidden and illegal in the earth as it relates to us or others as the kings, priests, and ambassadors of Heaven in the earth. Remember, always do these things as led of the Holy Spirit, do it in love (right motivation), and have full faith that the Father will do the works. This pattern never changes and is what Jesus demonstrated in His earthly ministry as an Anointed man. The same pattern is seen throughout the Bible, cover to cover. Doing anything else is futile. As I close for this week consider the following passage.
Matthew 18:18-20 (KJV)
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
When we exercise our authority in the earth, according to Covenant, according to Spiritual Law, Heaven springs into action and brings it to pass. It is vital that once the order is given that we step back and give the Lord a place to work. Don’t counteract the order with perverse and wicked thoughts and words of unbelief. The preceding passage expands the ideas, the authority, of binding and loosing to what is commonly referred to the “prayer of agreement”. To review, when we bind or loose a thing it must already be illegal or legal in Heaven. For example, poverty of any kind physical or spiritual is illegal in Heaven, and we can declare it as illegal in our lives. This does not mean we become instantly wealthy by gifts or bags of gold dropping from the sky, but it does mean that God will give us the means to acquire wealth. When we come together with others in the prayer of agreement our God will manifest, we will see His glory (manifested goodness). God is always with us; He doesn’t just show up when two or three people come together. He is always in the midst of us, but He is not always manifest in the midst of us. This Scripture tells us He will manifest in our lives, whatever we were binding or loosing in agreement with each other and Scripture.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
