YOU SHOULD SEE THE GLORY OF GOD
Friday – July 26, 2019, Tamuz 23, 5779

Greeting dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful, encouraging, and empowering Bible Study of the book of John. Can you believe it, Friday all over again? If you are reading this on Facebook please take just a moment and hit the “share” and “like” buttons, even tag your friends as the Lord leads you. These studies, this Ministry is focused primarily on strengthening the body of Christ, which is the body of Anointing in the earth. Another way to say it is that we as individuals and a corporate body have the Anointing who is the Holy Spirit upon and within us and we constitute the body of God in the earth. Direction comes from the head and is carried out by the body just as in our human bodies. Yes, I do know I have repeated this all week, some things bear much repeating. The featured pictures this week have been of various sites in Massachusetts (Donna’s birthplace) with the exception of today which is of Donna and myself. This picture was taken on our wedding day, May 25, 2019, what an Anointed, and joyous day. Now let’s turn our attention to the Bible Study, first reading our primary text from the Book of John aloud.
John 11:33-39 (KJV)
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
I wonder what Jesus’ reaction is today is to our weeping rather than moving in faith. I suspect all of us have read, studied or at the very least heard of the following verse.
Psalm 37:4 (KJV)
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Righteous desires of the heart, our mind, come from the Lord. The preceding verse tells us that if we will focus on Him, delight in Him, He will give us or bring to pass in our lives these desires. Let me give you a very personal example of how this works. One day last year in the midst of grief the Lord spoke to me very clearly (not an audible voice) saying, “David, stop grieving and I will give you the desires of your heart”. What is He saying? So long as I was grieving those God given desires were not coming to pass. So, I purposed in my heart that I would stop grieving, after all Jesus had already carried my grief and it was an insult for me to take it back. Some two months later the Lord brought the desire of my heart into my life, my beautiful wife Donna, pictured above with me. As you look at that picture surely you can see the manifested goodness of God and the joy and happiness radiating from our faces that day and this day. God is good and nothing but good, but it must be His way. It will be nothing but good His way. When I say nothing but good that does not mean we don’t have to do our part in caring for and guarding the desires, the good things, He brings into our lives. Moving forward, Jesus asks where the body of Lazarus is laid and “Jesus wept”.
John 11:34-35 (KJV)
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
Is Jesus weeping in grief or frustration due to the lack of faith with the Jews and Mary? You can bet it is not grief for nothing is lost here, His friend Lazarus is about to raise from the dead. There are times when I believe the Lord does weep and that is when people persist in rebellion and chose to go into hell rather than receiving the free gift of salvation and eternal life. As we end for today, for this week, look at the question Jesus asks. Jesus did not ask where they put the body but where they put “him” implying the whole man (spirit, soul, and body). We are not told in the text but could it be that the spirit/soul of Lazarus did not go to the Bosom of Abraham in those four days but remained with the body? Perhaps he went to the Bosom of Abraham but we are told nothing of that, there is no mention. Seems that if Lazarus had gone there it would be hard to shut him up about it. Although, the Bosom of Abraham is a partitioned part of Hell, it was very lovely compared to the part of Hell reserved for those who rejected the Covenant, but did not have the magnificence of Heaven. It is likely from the text that his situation from his point of view is much like a person today under anesthesia, without a memory, but never having left the body. I am not making an argument for soul sleep which I believe to be a very false doctrine. I am talking about this one account in which the outcome was not eternal death of the physical body but a temporary condition as sleep and he, Lazarus, would rise again.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
