HE WHO RECEIVES YOU RECEIVES ME
Friday – October 11, 2019, Tishrei 12, 5780

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this empowering study of the Book of John. As I have said before these teaching, the Word of God in general, is only empowering when it is received, believed, kept in the midst of our hearts, and spoken in faith, in love (agape). None of us must never forget, lose sight of the Truth, that our entire life (now and eternity) is determined by our response to the Word of God. Another foundational Truth is that God is good and any bad stuff is not put there by God nor is it a failure of God. We have in one way or another sanctioned (authorized) or given permission for every bit of the curse that is established in our lives. The pictures this week have been of various scenes here in Maine. Todays picture is of Donna and me, the leaders of this Ministry. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us encouraging feedback and to expand the reach of the gospel. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text for our study in the Book of John.
John 13:18-21 (KJV)
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
We are moving forward in our primary Bible text. Jesus has been talking about His disciples maturing and becoming just like Him in His earthly ministry as a man. He warns them that part and parcel of this maturing and doing as He did would entail persecution. He also pointed out that becoming mature and being as the Master would bring happiness. The inverse would be that absent becoming (constantly pressing toward maturity) mature and doing the things He did happiness will be elusive. I don’t know if you noticed it or not but although persecution is unpleasant at the moment it was not to be tolerated and we are to have the freedom to go elsewhere.
Matthew 10:23 (KJV)
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
The word flee here is not as one running in fear of physical harm or death but one just moving on like Jesus in His ministry.
John 8:59 (KJV)
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Luke 4:28-30 (KJV)
28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
John 10:39 (KJV)
39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
When Jesus sent out the twelve and the seventy, He tells them the following.
Luke 10:10-12 (KJV)
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
They would not be harmed but great harm was coming to whomever rejected those sent of the Master. When we are rejected, Jesus is rejected, and the Father is rejected. Not a good place to be. On the other hand, to receive us as one sent of God has terrific consequences.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
