A NATION BORN IN A FLASH

Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to this engaging and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good to give an immense treasury of His thoughts, His commandments for a truly abundant victorious life now and over the top eternity. The featured picture is of the Governor’s Mansion in Cheyenne Wyoming reminding us to pray for all in our government, and all others in authority. This is not optional. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text presented today from the Message Bible. Please continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 66:8-11 (MSG)
8 Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Has anyone seen anything like this? A country born in a day? A nation born in a flash? But Zion was barely in labor when she had her babies!
9 Do I open the womb and not deliver the baby? Do I, the One who delivers babies, shut the womb?
10 “Rejoice, Jerusalem, and all who love her, celebrate! And all you who have shed tears over her, join in the happy singing.
11 You newborns can satisfy yourselves at her nurturing breasts. Yes, delight yourselves and drink your fill at her ample bosom.”
I will pick up and repeat some of what was presented last Wednesday, the 12th of March. We are focused on verse eight.
Isaiah 66:8 (NIV)
8 Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.
Who is the country born in a day, who is the nation brought forth in a moment and who are the children of Zion? The country that was born, perhaps the phrase reborn would be most accurate, is the State or nation of Israel on May 14, 1948. Jesus said this generations would not pass away before all is fulfilled.
Matthew 24:32-34 (KJV)
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
So, how long is a generation? Given God’s conversation with Abram (Genesis 15:13-16) about the Jews occupying the Promised Land and the days of man being set at 120 years (Genesis 6:3) I think we can conclude a generation to be 100 – 120 years which would possibly put the Rapture or Second Coming in or between 2048 – 2068. So, who is the nation that was brought forth in a moment? It was the Church! On the very same day that Jesus rose from the dead and took His Blood to the Father and the Mercy Seat of Heaven He returned to earth and birthed the Church.
John 20:21-22 (NKJV)
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Just a short time before the Crucifixion Jesus had explained to His disciples that they knew the Holy Spirit for He has been with them but the time is coming when He will be withing them.
John 14:17 (KJV)
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Isn’t our Lord just wonderful.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
