DO WE TREMBLE AT HIS WORD? IN SPITE OF BEING REJECTED BY THE WORLD DO WE STILL SAY “LET THE LORD BE GLORIFIED”?

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a loved and blessed peoples. It is in many ways beyond the scope of our current languages in the earth to describe His love, His blessing, His goodness (glory) towards all, especially those of the household of faith. Dear ones when we were born again, we changed kingdoms and we are no longer to live by the dictates of the world. We have different laws, obligations and benefits the world does not and cannot enjoy. Have you crossed into the Promised Land, the Promises of God or have the giants kept you in fear? Fear was disastrous for Job and his family. The featured picture today is of the Capitol Building in Charleston West Virginia. This of course is to remind us to pray for our government, all that are in authority. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 66:5-8 (NKJV)
5 Hear the word of the LORD, You who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, That we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.”
6 The sound of noise from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the LORD, Who fully repays His enemies!
7 “Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child.
8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.
Wow, we are closing on the end of this Bible Book very rapidly. As we venture into verse five, we find the Lord admonishing those who tremble at His Word to hear the Word. We have seen this particular Hebrew word for hearing many times but let’s review. This word transliterated from the Hebrew to English as shāmaʿ means to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. According to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament it means to hear, and obey. This is an active word, an active listening, a listening to understand and obey, we are frequently much too passive in our listening. The verse ends talking about the people of God being cast out for the sake of His name. This has been the case over and over again down through history and we see it very soon after the Church is born.
Acts 4:16-18 (KJV)
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
Today we are seeing the same things with the step-by-step eradication of Jesus from our culture. That has never turned out good but the world, and sad to say much of the Church, is oblivious to this fact.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
