YOU KNOW THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
Friday – November 1, 2019, Cheshvan 3, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners of this Ministry and welcome back to our powerful and detailed Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God is so wonderfully good to give us His Word in detail and with precision to guide our lives in this world. His Word lights the path into all the abundance He came and restored for those who will receive, believe, and do. It is not the will of God for anyone (zero people) to perish in their finances or in their bodies or in any other area of this life. The quality and quantity of this life now and in eternity is the direct result of what we do with the Word of God today, our response to the Word of God today. We must be careful to receive, believe, and act on the pure Truth, not a corruption of the Word. The way we know if word we are receiving, believing, and doing is uncorrupted or not is to get into the Book (Bible) and study diligently separating Truth from fiction, and look at the fruit of our life. The featured pictures this week were of sunsets (no spiritual message intended), and we hope you have enjoyed. Todays picture is of my lovely wife Donna and me. If you are reading this on Facebook take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to be a participant with this ministry in the dissemination of the gospel. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text by reading it aloud.
John 14:4-7 (KJV)
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Today I will be moving forward in our study of the last hours of Jesus’ ministry in the earth and the ongoing life-giving teachings given those with Him and us today. Jesus has just warned them to not have a troubled (agitated, not at peace) heart. He links the presence of a troubled heart with a lack of faith in the Father and in Him (John 14:1). Let’s see how the Holy Spirit led the writer of Hebrews to say this Truth.
Hebrews 3:8-13 (KJV)
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Examine verse twelve carefully and the surrounding verses. Unbelief comes from an evil heart (mind), a hardness of the heart rejecting the Truth in exchange for a lie, and persisting in sin. Unbelief by itself is sin, whatever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). Now, before we move forward let each of us examine our hearts and examine our lives which is a manifestation of our heart and see if we are in God’s provision (rest) or the wilderness.
We talked at length about verses two and three and that Jesus has now gone to prepare a place for us just as the bridegrooms of ancient Israel did for their brides. A home would be built near the home of the father and when all was prepared the son would go and collect the bride for a wedding feast at her new home very near the father’s house. This of course is a picture of Jesus and the Church and of a Godly, a Biblical marriage today. It might be worthwhile for each of us to review yesterdays teaching.
Now, we see in verse four Jesus telling the disciples present that day and us today that we know where He is and how to get there. As we have seen frequently in our studies His Words commonly leave them befuddled. Later, however, they turn the world upside down (Acts 17:6) once He ascended to Heaven and the Holy Spirit had come to teach us all things. When did we get the idea, we could stop turning the world upside down? Here we see Thomas (“doubting Thomas”) chime in that they didn’t have a clue where He was going and therefore no clue how to get there. Jesus answers with the title of this teachings.
John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is one way into the Kingdom of God, into Heaven, and that is Jesus. There are not multiple ways but one, His name is Jesus. When we believe (have faith in) upon Him and confess Jesus as Lord and believe in our hearts (mind) that God raised Him from the dead we are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
