Today I will be continuing with our study of our faith in Him from Colossians and Ephesians. Remember the Apostle Paul in both epistles is talking to the saints and faithful brethren.
Colossians 2:6-7 (KJV)
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
We received Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, and the Anointing, by faith and it is by faith that we walk in Him or walk as He walked and as He walks. Now let us return to our discussion from Ephesians.
Ephesians 2:4-8 (KJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Let’s consider the phrase “his great love wherewith he loved us”. Just as we practice love by being selfless, observing The Blood Covenant, and obeying the Word so does God. We first see the Savior on the horizon back in Genesis.
Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This was the beginning of the process of redemption and The Blood Covenant was ratified at Calvary and all was guaranteed.
John 19:30 (KJV)
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
And the following verse is the culmination, if you will Genesis 1:3 all over again.
Revelation 21:1 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Our Heavenly Father who is love, did what love does, He acted in a selfless manner (He did not need a Savior), He observed The Blood Covenant established with Abraham, and He was obedient to the Word which started before the foundation of the world and the unfolding for us began in Genesis 3:15. The Bible Numerology is very interesting here. Genesis is the first book of the Bible and one is the number of unity. Three is the number of resurrection and or divine completeness. And fifteen is the number of rest or God’s perfect provision. Our God provided the way back to Him, unity with Him through the resurrection of Christ, bringing divine completeness to mankind, and perfect provision (rest) for eternity. O What a Savior!
Ephesians 2:4 (KJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Now let us move on before we wrap it up for today.
Ephesians 2:5-6 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
The payment for sin was made by Christ some 2000 years ago and no one is going to hell because of sin. People go to hell because they choose too, they reject the Messiah, Jesus.
John 3:18 (KJV)
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
