AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

DARKNESS IS AFRAID
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible, by every means available, to expand our reach with the gospel, the Truth. The featured picture is of people in Church, darkened room, and sleeping or somnolent. Why do Churches darken the room for any part of the service? Do we see this in the Bible anywhere, either on earth or in Heaven? Do you suppose that we want to be like the world? If we act like the world, perhaps we will attract the world? Will this yield the fruit of Heaven or Hell? Am I one of these in the picture, is my Church portrayed in this picture? Perhaps we can get some insight by reflecting upon what is happening or not happening in our Church. For example, are these things happening?
Acts 2:47 (KJV)
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Luke 7:21-22 (KJV)
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
We all must ask ourselves why this is not happening. Just to help us all a little, it is not entirely the other guy’s responsibility. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah and continue reading out loud. You know why.
Isaiah 19:13-17 (KJV)
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
I ended without comment yesterday with the Romans text to follow but first let’s again give our attention to Isaiah. The Lord is really making fun of those in the world who have become so lifted up in their own minds and pride that they think they have the corner on wisdom when in fact they are gigantic fools. The wisest natural person to ever exist on the earth is an incoherent baby in the light of God’s Wisdom. The day is at hand when darkness will shake, quake in its boots, because of the Church (Judah verse seventeen). Do you want to be a part of that invincible remnant that have taken their place as sons of God? Yesterday I presented the following passage from Romans. Our Isaiah and Romans text is not just for the time of Isaiah, and the first and second centuries. Unfortunately, this applies to repeating time periods down through history when the people of God go aside to other gods, even to this day.
Romans 1:21-26 (KJV)
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
One might think that the Apostle Paul visited our day.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
