DO NOT LET YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED
Wednesday – October 30, 2019, Cheshvan 1, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners of this Ministry and welcome back to our powerful and detailed Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God is so wonderfully good to give us His Word in detail and with precision to guide our lives in this world. His Word will bring us into all the abundance He came and restored for those who will receive, believe, and do. Jesus set the table, He stocked the warehouse, what will we choose? Whose table and warehouse are we choosing from? It is not the will of God for anyone (zero people) to perish in finances or in their bodies or any other area of this life. The quality and quantity of this life now and in eternity is the direct result of what we do with the Word of God, our response to the Word of God. The Truth, not a corruption of the Word brings abundance. The way we know if what we are receiving, believing, and doing is uncorrupted or not is to get into the Book (Bible) and study diligently separating Truth from fiction, and looking at the fruit of our lives. The featured pictures this week are of sunsets (no spiritual message intended), just enjoy. If you are reading this on Facebook take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to be a participant with this ministry in the dissemination of the gospel. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text by reading it aloud.
John 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Well dear friends and partners we are moving into a new chapter in our study of the Book of John. As you can see, Jesus does a tremendous amount of teaching that is transmitted to us in the waning hours of His earthly ministry. Of course, there is much that Jesus said and did in His ministry that we do not have a record of but what we do have is handpicked by the Holy Spirit. See how the Apostle John puts it later in the last verse of this Book.
John 21:25 (KJV)
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
As we place our attention squarely on verse one, we see Jesus commanding, not suggesting, or saying to give it a try, but commanding that we not let our hearts be troubled. The very fact that it is a command and our God is a just God means we are fully capable of doing this thing, which is to not let our hearts be troubled. The very use of the words “Let not” indicates that we willfully chose to have a troubled heart (mind) or not. We like to think we have no control, it just somehow overtakes us, but that is not the case, we allow and in fact invite the trouble in. Oh, it’s going to be a rough day for the religious spirits. In addition, we see that having or not having a troubled heart has to do with our belief in God, our belief in Jesus. One might say, “I believe in God, I believe in Jesus”, one might even go on to say, “I love the Lord”. Really, and you have a troubled heart? The Master says that if we have a troubled heart, we are in some way doubting the Father and Him. What say we?
I am going to take the pressure off of both of us for a moment and present some synonyms and antonyms of the word trouble in our text according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament. Synonyms are to arouse, stir up, to afflict, to vex, to harass, to annoy, to make an uproar, to clamor, or to disturb. Antonyms include to be still, to quiet, to bring peace, or to make peace. Now, I am going to call us both to account. So, which of these do you suppose come from our own lack of faith and love of God stirred up by the enemy and which is facilitated by our faith in God, and our love of God, enabled by the Holy Spirit? Having faith in God, in Jesus is the antidote to fear, a troubled heart (mind). Real faith is dependent upon, and anchored in love (agape, same love God has). Godly love is obedience to Scripture, a selfless lifestyle, and doing of the Blood Covenant. As we finish for today let’s review the following Scripture.
1 John 4:18 (KJV)
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
A troubled heart is a fear filled heart, a heart that does not fully trust God, does not believe that God will do what He promised. A troubled heart brings torment. A troubled heart is a tormented heart. Let us decide right now to love God and have full faith in Him and extinguish our emotions attempts and our spiritual enemies attempts to trouble our heart.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
