FOR DAVID’S SAKE

Greetings dear and precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Empowering only if received, proved, believed, eliminating all doubt, and then acted upon as led of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, one might read and say: “oh, isn’t that interesting”, turn away forgetting, and their world and other people’s world not changing.
James 1:22-25 (KJV)
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Do we want to be changed day by day to be like Him (Jesus) being blessed and being a blessing or do we want to continue with the status quo? Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible disseminating the Truth beyond our reach alone. The featured picture today is from our wedding May 25th 2019.
Before we delve into the teaching for today I want to bring the arm of this Ministry to your attention called: SABBATICAL MOMENTS. This arm reaches out to people, frequently Pastors, providing tangible help in times of stress or need. For example this year we have provided plumbing repairs of an urgent nature for a man of God, we have provided internet for a woman of God, and a computer for another woman of God, and grounds upkeep for a wonderful Minister of God. Those of you that are partners (contribute financially) are partakers in this and in the blessings God Himself will bring to you.
Now let’s turn our attention to our text in Isaiah.
Isaiah 10:32-34 (KJV)
32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
God continues to talk to His people in very plain language through His Prophet telling them again that the Assyrians will only be able to come so far. Jerusalem will not be destroyed, not yet. No different today. They were listening, hearing, a true Prophet of God. Just like then, we today must discern between the voices to which we listen. We must never be in the group looking to get their ears tickled according to pre-established paradigms.
2 Timothy 4:2-5 (KJV)
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (Bold added)
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
This is before our eyes even now! Have we been guilty of this in our Christian walk? Let us never compromise Truth for loyalty and comfort. The Lord assures His people that there is a limit as to how far the enemy can come. They, the Assyrians, will not enter Jerusalem. They will shake their hand (fist) at Jerusalem but it will not be destroyed, not yet.
2 Kings 19:31-34 (KJV)
31 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
32 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
As you may recall an angel of the Lord came through at night leaving 185,000 Assyrians dead. I want to also point out the power of intercession and a righteous life. God did not allow the destruction of Jerusalem at that time for “David’s sake”. Are each of us establishing this kind of reputation, this kind of standing with God, that He will work on behalf of our seed long after we have gone on to be with Him? God called David a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22)! Do we have that reputation? Now, the destruction of Jerusalem declared. The cup of iniquity was full and overflowing.
Matthew 24:1-2 (KJV)
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
We know from history this occurred about 70 A.D. or about 37 years after Jesus spoke these Words. See the passage in the Complete Jewish Bible.
Matthew 24:1-2 (CJB)
1 As Yeshua left the Temple and was going away, his talmidim came and called his attention to its buildings.
2 But he answered them, “You see all these? Yes! I tell you, they will be totally destroyed — not a single stone will be left standing!”
Lord willing, I will move into the Eleventh chapter of Isaiah next week. We love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
