FRIDAY NUGGETS
SIGNS FOLLOWING

Greetings dear and precious saints and welcome back to FRIDAY NUGGETS. This week we will be looking at signs following the Word. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Those who share have a vital role in this Ministry obeying the command to take the Truth into all the world.
Recently I was watching a brief segment of a Christian program and this verse (KJV & AMP) was brought up.
John 10:37 (KJV)
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
John 10:37 (AMP)
37 If I am not doing the works [performing the deeds] of My Father, then do not believe Me [do not adhere to Me and trust Me and rely on Me].
One co-hosts then posed this question to the other co-host as to if this is still the standard to which we should be held. Are we doing the works of our Heavenly Father? If we are not, why should people believe us? Are we not commanded to do the works Jesus did and the greater works as well (John 14:12)? Did Jesus not identify all of His works as those of the Father (John 14:10)? We must be about Kingdom business in whatever plan God has for us to walk in. All of us together accomplish the whole plan of God. Why are we not seeing the works of God?
John 3:34 (KJV)
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Is at least part of the answer in this verse? Are we speaking the Words God gives us the way He gives it to us or are we picking and choosing what we want to say? What do we suppose the Spirit without measure can accomplish?
Luke 4:32 (KJV)
32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
Our words, Words given us of God, are to be with Power as well! Why are seeing this such a limited fashion? The short answer is unbelief, unbelief in the Minister and/or unbelief in the one who needs to receive.
Matthew 13:58 (KJV)
58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Jesus could not do mighty works due to unbelief. Unbelief always stops the flow of God.
Mark 6:5-6 (KJV)
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. (Bold added)
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
You know the story of this verse, and we are told that the Power of God was present to heal all that needed healing but the only one healed that day was the one let down through the roof.
Luke 5:17 (KJV)
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
The following passage demonstrates a lack of faith in the one praying for the sick.
Mark 9:17-19 (KJV)
17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
You would think that if anyone was going to have faith it would be those who were with Jesus physically for years, yet we see here a failure in their faith. Could it be that they were not really listening, not really hearing?
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Are we listening, hearing with the intent to understand and make the thoughts of God our thoughts displacing all thoughts to the contrary? As we conclude today let’s meditate the following verses and consider how we should proceed.
Mark 16:19-20 (KJV)
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (Bold added)
The word ‘signs’ here is talking about miraculous undeniable events or manifestations of the Power of God.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Sermons, teachings serve many purposes but among them is to build faith to receive the promises of God. When the people are ready to receive there should be astonishing miracles, at least to the natural mind. The force or passion with which someone expresses the Word is not an indicator of their faith, it is the manifestations of Power. We have put up with the absence of Power (Power of God) in our personal lives and that of our Church way to long. The devils have dumbed down our expectations to the point that if we have a loud service with some jumping around there was a powerful move of God. Not true dear ones. There is not Scripture for that but lots for teaching the Word of God and witnessing notable miracles to follow. When these happen, we won’t have to wonder what worldly program will help our Church grow.
Lord willing, I will return with a fresh Word from the Throne next Friday for the glory of God.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
