ARMOR OF GOD – PART TWENTY-SIX
Greeting precious saints of God and those who are pre-saints of God. Welcome to this ongoing Bible teaching on “Gifts from God” currently discussing the Armor of God. Please take a moment to share these teachings broadening and lengthening the reach of this Ministry with the Truth.
For the last few weeks, I have been discussing the frustration I am detecting among some believers and myself about the lack of power in the Church. When I say in the Church, I am taking about the Power of God being manifested by His people in all spheres of life. I suspect some of you may be satisfied with the status quo or just accept it all as the will of God. All too often we hear Christians respond to a tragic event with words like; “well that must have been the plan of God”. No, no, and no, that was the curse, the plan of the wicked ones not our loving God who does not will that any perish! We are redeemed from the curse, it is not the will of God that any of His children, or anyone else for that matter, be killed by the curse, period. Holy Scripture tells us that life and death is in our mouth, not God’s.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Who chooses?
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Whose tongue decides on death or life? We are suffering the curse and dying from the curse as the fruit of our own mouths not God’s. When will we actually read, believe, and do the Bible? The starting place for us is doing the works Jesus did and then proceed to the greater works. Just as a reminder, this is some of what Jesus did.
Matthew 11:5 (KJV)
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Notice the poor of every kind, not just financial, had the gospel or good news preached to them. Faith comes by hearing. It is our faith which makes us whole. People came to hear and were then healed.
Luke 5:15 (KJV)
15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
This should be said about a great number of us as well. Perhaps we are not preaching enough good news. The Apostle Paul talked about not just coming to a place to speak but to display the Power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4 (KJV)
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Where is the Power of God in our individual lives and in the life of our individual body of believers? Let’s continue to press into God with all persistence to determine what the bottleneck is in our individual lives and that of the body in general. I for one don’t just want to talk and sing about the goodness of God but demonstrate it in my own life and Ministry.
Now let’s pick up with a few more verses from our primary Bible text. Read these as well as the whole study aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing not seeing.
Ephesians 5:19-21 (KJV)
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
In the world and the Church submission is an abhorrent idea. We are clearly told in our text that we are to submit ourselves one to another as part of our honoring of God. Remember, we are all precious to the Lord, He paid that most precious price of His Blood for all of us. We are to prefer others above ourselves. We are to get us off our minds. Foremost in our minds must be the will of God and the good of others. Jesus put it this way.
Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV)
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Do we receive this, do we believe this, are we doing this?

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
