WHAT ABOUT ZERUBBABAL? (PART THREE)
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Saturday publication From the Prophets Chamber. In the last few weeks Donna and I made the move to San Antonio, Texas. Everything has gone very well and we are excited about this new and fresh chapter in our lives. God has wonderful plans for us just as He does for each one of you as we put Him, the Kingdom, the Word first. First means first even when the flesh says otherwise.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Are we doing this or just talking about it? Now, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry with the Truth. God is so good and nothing but good dear ones. If what is in your life is not good, it is not God, pure and simple. God is not in the business of putting bad things in any part of our lives. There is one person and one person alone that is responsible for the bad or good things that gain entry into our lives and that is we ourselves. We open or close the door of our lives to God and the devil. What have we been choosing? This is not hard; we only have to look at the fruit of our lives.
Now, let’s turn our attention to Zerubbabel. Our title for this teaching asks “What about Zerubbabel”, however, we might want to ask where are the Zerubbabel’s today. The temple of God, the house of God, is in a shambles, who is rebuilding this temple? We are divided into a multitude of denominations and there are schisms within local bodies. Is this division and confusion of the Lord or the devil? Hope you got this right it is of the devil pure and simple. Our God is not the author of division or confusion. Now, let’s take a broader look at our primary Bible text, but first our core Scripture.
Zechariah 4:7 (KJV)
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
You will recall that I generally meditate this Scripture while thanking God for and decreeing the Favor, Grace, of God over my life. Each of us have mountains, obstacles in our natural and spiritual lives, that must be overcome, surrender to them, or compromise with them. There were many obstacles to the rebuilding of the Temple but Zerubbabel shouted Grace (Favor) to those obstacles (mountains) and they disappeared. Primary among them was money, resources, as we see in the following text from Haggai. Are we shouting to our mountains in faith? The Temple in disrepair of that day represents the Church in disrepair in our day. Where is faith, love (agape), and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Where are the works Jesus did and the greater works? Let’s continue our lesson seeing what the Lord said to Zerubbabel through the Prophet Haggai.
Haggai 2:4-9 (KJV)
4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
The Lord through the Prophet Haggai is telling Zerubbabel and the people to be strong, and to work. He reassures them that He is with them. The Lord of Hosts reminds them that they are a Covenant people. All of this including the work is instruction for the Church today. The Lord of Hosts (Second Person of the Trinity) cautions them against fear, where there is fear there is no faith, the lack of faith displeases God and nothing will be done for the Kingdom. There was a shaking of the heathen in that day and we see this all about us today. Then He talks about a great wealth transfer; “I will fill this house with glory”. The glory is the resources illegally held by Satan and his people. This house, the Church is to far exceed the former of the Old Covenant but that has never been achieved. Where are the Zerubbabel’s to lead the Church, this latter house, into the promised land?

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
