HE IS LORD

Greetings to all and welcome back to this powerful and instructive Bible Study of the Book of John. Are we really studying these Truths and implementing them into our lives or are we looking at the pictures, scanning and then moving on unchanged? Over the preceding weeks you may have heard, said yourself, that it is certainly time to get serious with God. Well, when was it not a time to be serious about the Word, about God? The Church and the world are simply receiving the harvest of their sowing. It has always been a time to take the Word of God very serious and make it first place in our lives, far in front and above all other thoughts, words, and people. Only when we see the Word of God as the way to think, as the way to talk, and the way to behave, then and only then can we please God, love (agape) God, and love people. We cannot please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). We must have unwavering faith in God, not faith in the world system, the traditions of men, or the doctrine of devils. The power of faith in God, the Word of God is love (agape). That love (agape) is the strength or power of faith and love for God and people. Love (agape) does not exist apart from obedience to the Word of God. Let us throw ourselves entirely upon the Word of God not deviating from even one dot or tittle. If you are reading this on Facebook please hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback and expand the reach of this one source of Truth. Now let’s read our primary Bible text aloud. Yes, yes, aloud!
John 15:20-23 (KJV)
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
Today I am again going to pick up with the twentieth verse and the word “lord”. Many in the Church refer to Jesus as their Lord, is it true, is there evidence? Let’s go ahead and take a look at the meaning of this word from the Greek. The English word “lord” is kyrios according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary meaning Lord, Master, Owner, Supreme in authority, and controller. God created or made us freewill beings in the god class of being and gave us authority in the earth. In addition, for those in right standing with Him have the Blessing to enforce our authority and bring about the will of God. Let me be clear at the onset of this discussion, God is not making anyone do anything and the devil cannot make anyone do anything. We chose to either obey God, the devil, or some mixture. Obeying the devil or some mixture of God and the devil is a sure recipe for disaster, just look at the original sin of mankind in the Garden of Eden. The only rational answer is for us to obey God, and Him alone. Obeying a person makes them our lord, with a capitol “L” when we are talking about God, more specifically Jesus (the Head of the Church). When we were saved, we declared Jesus as our “Lord” (exact same word as our text). I wonder how many of us actually meant it and did it. From casual observation that number is at or near zero.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9 (TLB)
9 For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
I don’t know about you but I know that I am most likely to approach Him as Lord is when I’m in a pinch and can’t resolve it or get out of it myself. What about you? Jesus is the head of the Church and all of our instructions (like in the human body) are to come from the head. Let us all consider and do the following passages. As I have heard a man say; “if Jesus is not Lord of all, He is not Lord at all”. Until Jesus (the Word) reigns supreme in our lives we will have a bumpy ride, a defeated life on the whole.
Colossians 1:18 (KJV)
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Ephesians 1:20-23 (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Look, there is no downside to making Jesus the head of our lives, the Lord of our lives, and look to Him in all things. In our repentance and in our turning to Him with all our heart He will have the legal authority to stay and defeat the plague. First our repentance then our words of authority and He will bring the plague to nothing.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
