HELMET OF SALVATION
Friday – May 5, 2017

Notice: Our snail mail address has changed to: 3 Rosswood Green Lane, Unit Two, Oakland, Maine 04963.
Friday is upon us all too quickly. Some of you may be thinking that is easy for a retired person to say, because when you work you are tickled pink it is Friday. Something to consider is that you may be in the wrong job. Our jobs are a part of our assignment in the earth from God not something we do separate from God.
Greeting and blessing from Patti and I at The Three Minute Word publication. Because it is Friday I am reminding us all to pray, decree, for the Church in America. It is a time of turmoil, upheavals, transition and a draining of the slime pits. If we do not relent we are moving into a place where this gospel will be preached with the manifestation of power and there will be a vast harvest. Now let’s move back to our Bible Study from the Book of Ephesians.
Ephesians 6:13-18 (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Today I will be discussing Ephesians 6:17 and the helmet of salvation. In the natural a helmet is a device that sits upon and around the head protecting it from injury. Knowledge is a type of helmet and even in the natural realm can protect our minds from wrong thoughts, or ideas. In the spiritual realm knowledge of God and Christ Jesus is the way forward. Knowledge that we have salvation is critical to our defenses and even the effectiveness of our offense. From time to time our spiritual enemies will bombard our mind with the thought that perhaps we are not saved, perhaps we do not feel saved. Nothing in the Kingdom of God is based on feelings or emotion and if we are wise nothing in the natural realm is based on emotion as well for they give misdirection as often as not. Everything to the extent we can in the natural realm must be based on verifiable fact and so it must be in the spiritual realm
So what is salvation? Salvation is rescue from an unsafe place to a safe place. We have gone from a place where we had no defender to a place where we do have a defender. Those who are born again have been born from eternal death to eternal life. Our salvation is the same salvation that Jesus obtained at His resurrection. Whatever the Father was willing to do for Jesus He is willing to do for us (A Blood Covenant obligation). The Apostle John tells us that the Word (Jesus) was not only with God in the beginning but He was God (John 1:1).
When Jesus left Heaven for earth He was proclaimed as God with us, Immanuel (Matthew 1:23). Jesus was born a man however unlike mankind since Adam He was born with a living soul, we are born with a dead soul (spirit man). When Jesus left heaven he divested Himself of the attributes that made Him God. He lived a sinless life and was baptized in the Holy Spirit (endued with power) just prior to His ministry. Notice that it is possible to live a sinless life without being filled with the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues but it is not possible to operate in the Power of God. Jesus was an innocent man on the cross and by prior agreement took our sin. Sin separates one from God and causes spiritual death (think Adam, Jesus is the last Adam). He gave up (His choice) the ghost on the Cross and descended into Hell. He was an innocent man however and Justice (The Father) could not leave Him in Hell. Although His body was dead, even though His spirit man was dead, His soul (knowledge and faith in that knowledge) was not dead. By the words of His testimony and the Blood of the Lamb (His very own Blood) the Father was obligated to raise Him from the dead restoring not only eternal life and an incorruptible body but to His status as God (Hebrews 1).
When we receive Jesus as our Lord we are immediately born from death (eternal) to life (eternal) by Grace (Holy Spirit) just like Jesus. Now we are awaiting the restoration of our bodies like unto that of Jesus.
Romans 8:23 (KJV)
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Jesus was the first one born from the dead now multiplied millions have that same salvation available.
1 Corinthians 15:20-23 (KJV)
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Jesus was restored to the Throne of Majesty on High as God. We have been restored to a condition better than Adam because Adam did not have a safety net (Jesus). One slip up and he died spiritually immediately. We are in Christ Jesus, our safety net, our Intercessor, our High Priest and our Advocate. Many people will be in Heaven who died with unconfessed sin due to ignorance and/or laziness but were hedged about with the intercessory prayer of other saints and Jesus Himself. Do not misunderstand, they were born again and thought they were following Jesus but they were not in agreement with Jesus and therefore walking ignorantly with the one they were in agreement with, the devil. This is not an endorsement of ignorance or laziness because these make us useless or less useful to God, the purposes of the Kingdom of God. We are not here to scratch and claw our way into Heaven but to reconcile people to the Father expanding the Kingdom of God. Heaven is our home our certain destination. So in summary Jesus purchased for us eternal life, an incorruptible body and a place of great protection in Him. Monday I will pick-up our study right here.
Please receive the Blessing by faith. Grab it, it is yours, confess it in the first person in the name of Jesus.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Say: The Lord enables me, strengthens me and guards around about me, His face is shining upon me because I submit to Him, and O He is so gracious to me. He is looking upon me as a glowing Father and I am one with Him in Jesus name.
