Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus from Eastern Gate Ministries International, publisher of The Three Minute Word. I will continue today with our study of Ephesians. First be reminded to pray for the Church of Jesus Christ, the whole Ekklēsia. The Church building pictured is the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, located in Yellowknife, Canada. The persons standing outside hopefully are part of the church, the Ekklēsia of God. We are looking for revelation knowledge to sweep the Church, even all peoples. We are looking for the people of God to have a fire burning within as they choose the pure Word of Truth.
I left off yesterday in the midst of a discussion of Ephesians 1:9 focused on “the mystery of his will,”
Ephesians 1:8-10 (KJV)
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
There is an idea that is heard commonly which is that there are no new meanings of any given Scripture. The general implication being that what those before us knew about a given Scripture is what we know about that same Scripture and the meaning or revelation to be gleaned is static. At issue is not the original statement but the implication that there is nothing we can understand that has not been previously understood by man. This is absolutely false. The Word of God were spoken by God, the Word (Jesus), and God by definition is infinite (unmeasurable) therefore so are His Words. That being said, let us understand that the Truth uttered by God is not changed but our understanding of the Truth, the unveiling of God is progressive and will be for eternity. Now don’t start running and tearing out your hair but understand that we today can and do have a greater understanding, revelation of the Word, of God than the Apostle Paul. This unveiling of God is a progressive thing that will go on for eternity. At our entry into Heaven there will be a burst of clarity and then we must apply the diligence of learning the Word that we blew off in this life. A major point that I want all of us to understand is that “the mystery of his will,” is unfolding progressively and will continue to do so for eternity. Back to my original point, we can know the mind of Christ. At any given point we can know what He knows concerning us and our assignments, we should have, seek after, the clarity of our vantage point of being seated in Him at the right hand of the Father.
Part of the mystery of the will of God that seems to have been lost is man’s original marching orders from Genesis. We were given dominion (authority), Blessed (supernaturally empowered), then instructed to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth, to subdue the earth, take care of our garden, guard our garden, and not mix the knowledge of good and evil. The capacity of man to carry out these mandates (orders) was severely diminished when man sinned submitting his authority (dominion) to the will of Satan, and losing the Blessing (empowerment of God). BUT JESUS (the Word became flesh) came and bought (purchased) it all back, the dominion (authority is back), and the Blessing (Holy Spirit) is back! We are no longer prisoners of war of Satan but we are free to enter the Kingdom of God and Jesus said the Father was overjoyed to give us the Kingdom (Luke 12:32). The Biblical Numerology of this verse is astounding. Luke is the third book of the New Testament which stands for Devine completeness. Twelve is the number of governmental perfection. And, thirty-two is the number of Covenant. Could we then say that we are complete in Christ, in The Blood Covenant, reigning and ruling with Him? I doubt that you and I have the capacity right this second to imagine what all this means and entails but our Teacher the Holy Spirit will open it to us as we open ourselves to His teaching. Forget the traditions of men and get into the flow of the revelation of Heaven through the Holy Spirit.
Luke 12:29-34 (KJV)
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Jesus is not talking about a vow of poverty in this passage. Jesus is telling them and us to not focus on the physical things of life which is a very inferior realm but focus on the Heavenly or Spiritual realm which is the superior and controller realm. Jesus speaks of doubt and fear both of which are symptoms of unbelief. Unbelief is the failure to believe that God has our back. Just like those that choose the wilderness and died in the wilderness instead of the Promised Land, many of us have chosen the wilderness. The wilderness is filled with poverty, sickness and disease, and much disappointment, in short stealing, killing, and destroying.
Unbelief places us in the hand of Satan. Jesus says to get our eyes off our stuff, take care of the poor in the process, and focus on the mission from Heaven. Our treasure in the heavens are our thoughts, words, ways, purposes aligning with those of Heaven (where there is no poverty, sickness, or brokenness of any kind in Heaven), we will be focused on spiritual things and God will take care of the physical things. I would like to inject a very vital idea at this point. The Kingdom of God or Heaven is not located only in the place called Heaven, the abode of God, but also wherever we occupy in the earth is the Kingdom of God. In that space, the Kingdom of God in the earth, there should be no difference from the Kingdom of God in Heaven. Our assignment from God in the earth may well involve a job or running a business diligently and excellently but our focus (reliance) is heavenly, spiritual. Notice verse thirty-three does not say ‘Heaven’ but heavens meaning the spiritual realm. The Spiritual realm is superior and our thoughts and words create and maintain our world whether it be good or bad. We must choose this day whom we will serve, ourselves (de-facto the devil) or God. When we chose and focus on the things of His will then our lives will be filled with wonderful things.
