I WILL BREAK THE ASSYRIAN IN MY LAND

Greetings dear friends and partners of The Three Minute Word blog and Eastern Gate Ministries International Inc. Also, welcome back to these powerful teachings from the Book of Isaiah. God is so good to open His thoughts and His ways to us that we can walk with Him on the good path He has prepared for each of us.
Jeremiah 29:11 (CJB)
11 For I know what plans I have in mind for you,’ says Adonai, ‘plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future.
Amos 3:3 (KJV)
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Why in the world do we think we have a better path for our life than the One who loved us enough to die for us? The One who has purchased us from Hell (eternal death and torment) into eternal life. The One who has given us the Kingdom of God which does not have even one bad thing in it.
The featured picture depicts or represents the Prophet Isaiah. Before I move forward with today’s study, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible expanding our reach with this good news. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah and continue reading out loud. You are reading out loud, right? You know why!
Isaiah 14:24-27 (ESV)
24 The LORD of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,
25 that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him underfoot; and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.”
26 This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.
27 For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?
I will now move forward in our text and pick up with verse twenty-five. The Lord of Hosts is telling them and us that although the Assyrians may be His hand of judgment for a season that will end and they, the Assyrians, will suffer as they overstep their bounds. Notice the phrase “in my land”. That is the Promised Land, the land we now call Israel. It was declared by the Prophet Isaiah and sure enough it came to pass.
2 Kings 19:32-36 (KJV)
32 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Our God will not suffer (put up with) the unjust oppression of His people. We see really good news in the next verse.
Isaiah 14:26 (MSG)
26 This is the plan, planned for the whole earth, And this is the hand that will do it, reaching into every nation.
This of course has not yet come to pass, but it will just as surely as the preceding and myriads of other prophecies have come to pass. A prophecy is the thoughts, the will, of God spoken into the earth by the mouth of His chosen Prophet. This verse may be referring to the 1000-year reign of Christ (most likely) or the coming of the new earth and new heavens. Finally.
Isaiah 14:27 (YLT)
27 For Jehovah of Hosts hath purposed, And who doth make void? And His hand that is stretched out, Who doth turn it back?’
The short answer is that none will turn it back. Once the will of God is released into the earth in faith, God is loosed to work in the hearts of men and women to bring it to pass. As He has brought into my thinking many times, He will have a people, the question is this, will I will you be one of those people?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
