ISRAEL – AND THE BLESSING

Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The Blessing was given to mankind way before Abraham however the faith of Abraham after the fall (Day of Sin) assured the Blessing (salvation and baptism of the Holy Spirit) for all peoples. In the beginning the Blessing was given to backup the authority (dominion) given man to accomplish the mandates (commands) of God.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
However, when Adam sinned, when they bowed their knee and became the servant of the Serpent (Romans 6:16) the Blessing (who blesses) had no legal place with mankind, this same person is the “breath of life” (Genesis 2:7) left the presence of man sounding as a rushing wind (Genesis 3:8). Now let us fast forward to the calling of Abraham.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
I believe that many people are well aware of this passage, and this no wiggle room promise of God yet we routinely see peoples substituting their own judgments for that of the Creator (mind boggling). Now I will present a couple of examples from Scripture which show the benefits on a very personal level of blessing Israel. Perhaps many of you know the account of Cornelius the Roman centurion (commander of troops) as a man we feared God, served the God of the Jews, and did good deeds concerning the Jewish nation.
Acts 10:3-4 (KJV)
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Acts 10:22 (KJV)
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
Acts 10:44-47 (KJV)
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Because Cornelius blessed the Jewish people with alms (money) he was instrumental in bringing the gospel to all of the gentiles including us. It is quite worthwhile for us to take the time to read this whole chapter. Now another example.
Luke 7:2-10 (KJV)
2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
When this centurion followed the command of God and blessed Israel the Blessing was released into his life and his sick servant was healed. As I end let us think about the following.
Romans 15:25-29 (KJV)
25 But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
28 When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
The Jewish people are the ones who supernaturally have written by the Anointing God and preserved the Holy Scriptures for all peoples especially for us gentiles. The Apostle Paul is bringing a gift of money to the poor saints in Jerusalem and he says that once that is done he can go on to Spain in the “fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ”. Just think upon what the fulness of the empowerment of the good news of Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One, and the Anointing can accomplish. It is staggering. Back to the picture at the top of this teaching. It depicts that day on Mount Moriah when God tested the New Blood Covenant and Abraham passed with flying colors. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son which he loved, the son of the promise of God so therefore God had to be willing to sacrifice His only Son which He loved, a Son of promise of salvation for all peoples.
