JESUS SHEWED HIMSELF AGAIN

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. God is good and nothing but good dear brother and sister. No matter your circumstance at the moment or mine we must always remember that God is always, without exception good. There can be many ways that the curse comes or is given entrance (by us) but although permitted by God is not caused or initiated by God. God does not beat up on us to get our attention or teach us something and He is not subcontracting with the demons. Look at how Jesus put it.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
I really like this verse for it very succinctly differentiates between the work of our enemy and the work of our Lord. Life can get pretty rough at times, deal with the rough as you must, but always run to God, the Word. As of today, we are starting with the last chapter of John. I am not sure where I will go from here. I had previously given thought to the Book of Isaiah. The featured picture today is an artist’s illustration of the disciples seeing Jesus on the shore and coming to Him with Peter in the lead. Please take a moment to share this Bible teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for that. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 21:1-4 (KJV)
1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
As you know it is now several days since Jesus’ Resurrection and He has appeared twice to these disciples. On both occasions it was quite supernatural and the Scripture makes reference to that fact.
John 20:30 (KJV)
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
Can you imagine the honor and privilege accorded these first members of the body of Christ in this time period between the Resurrection and the final Ascension? Of course, we will all see our Lord and Savior face to face very soon. What a day that will be! These disciples are now born again, but they are not filled with the Holy Spirit for it is not time for the Holy Spirit to return to the earth. Jesus has given them some insight as to their future but has not ordained, commissioned them, or empowered them for their work in the Kingdom of God as of yet.
John 20:21 (KJV)
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
They know they are going to be sent but have no direction at this point. More direction is coming but is not recorded in this Gospel of John. Our primary text today is leading up to the third appearance of Jesus (verse 14) to His disciples. I have to say that they don’t seem to fully grasp the significance of the moment but in fairness they are newly saved and not filled with the Holy Spirit. In addition, they do not have our prospective of time and the whole of Scripture. These disciples are hanging out together and perhaps in a moment of confusion or boredom Peter declares I’m going fishing. This has been their business for years and is something familiar to go back to. In times of transition, when we are being prepared for another level, assignment, we can have a tendency to return to what was familiar. This something familiar may be something in the Church (but not currently Holy Spirit directed) or perhaps in the world. The old man who is dead still remembers and the devils are all too eager to put a spin on it that appeals to our flesh. These disciples have fished all night and caught nothing. We have seen this before.
Luke 5:5 (KJV)
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Toiling is under the curse; they have moved out from under grace back to the curse and are toiling, doing it the world’s way. That is all about to change. What about you and me?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
