THE GREATER THINGS – PART THIRTY-FOUR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and followers of this Ministry and blog. Welcome back to this thought provoking and hopefully thought changing study of the works Jesus did and the greater works, both of which we (all of us) are commanded to do also.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
We have to ask ourselves why we are not seeing this in our own lives, in the lives of those around us, nor by news reports. Jesus simply said that the person who believed on Him would do the works He did and greater works. This is saying as clearly as one might seek to say it, we don’t really believe. That is not to say we are not saved but it does say in an irrefutable fashion that we do not believe we can do the works He did or the greater works. Why don’t we believe it? When was the last time this was preached in your Church? Do any of us have a role model in our lives other than what we have heard about or read about healing ministries of the past, and what we read in the Bible? For many it is easy to dismiss the Ministry of Jesus by simply saying: “but that was Jesus, the Son of God”. Or we refer to one or another of the Old Testament Prophets as though they were somehow super saints and not at all like us. For the most part we do not have modern day role models. Even the most prominent of Christian role model leaders are not walking in this with consistency. The failure is not with God and it is not with the written Word of God. Dear brother and sister I don’t think we really grasp how far we are fallen, how different our thinking is from that of the Father, or Jesus in the earth. Please carefully notice what Jesus (The Word) has to say immediately after our text of John 14:12.
John 14:15 (KJV)
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
So, what do we think? The word ‘love’ and ‘loveth’ in all cases above is agape, the God kind of love. We who are born again are not only capable of walking in this highest level of love (agape) but God expects us to walk in it. This love is obedience to Scripture, it is dying to self (selflessness), and observance of Blood Covenant. Above, Jesus tells us that if we love (agape) Him we will keep His commandments. These commandments are found in all sixty-six Books of the Bible. He expects us to have or know His commandments or requirements, and actually do them. Jesus tells us in John 14:21 above that when we discharge our love responsibilities, then He and the Father will discharge or perform their love responsibilities. The definition of ‘love’ does not change just because it is referring to God rather than us. As a little bit of an aside. All that God is ever going to do for us is already prepared. So rather than our obedience, selflessness, observance of Blood Covenant, bringing a reaction from God it is more like we open the door or align for a flow of His provision. So, lets each of us examine or judge ourselves before God in the light of Scripture and make the necessary adjustments. We have been slack way too long. Now let’s shift gears and return to our Isaiah Scripture which lead us forward into the ‘greater works’.
Isaiah 61:1-4 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
The works that Jesus did in His Ministry as an Anointed man and that we are commanded to be doing as believers is found in Isaiah 61:1 and the first phase of Isaiah 61:2. Following this we start to uncover the greater works. Jesus came into the earth to take vengeance upon Satan and take back the authority over the earth Adam handed to him in the Garden. He promptly redelegates that authority or dominion to man, covenant men (male and female) as in the beginning. The phrase “to comfort all that mourn” is a little difficult to define. However, the word ‘mourn’ here has to do with repentance. When we repent and come to the Lord as at other times in our walk with God when we have sinned and repented we can fall into a mourning. We can comfort them and ourselves with the knowledge, the reality, that those sins are gone and like the Apostle Paul we can say we have wronged no man.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
