KING OF THE JEWS

Greetings dear and precious saints of the only living God. Welcome back to this very powerful, if received, believed, and put into action, Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment and share this Bible teaching as widely as possible. God is so good friends and partners. If you are not a partner with this Ministry become one today, remember, it is impossible to reap without sowing. The featured picture today was taken in San Antonio Texas in April 2019 at the Southside Church of God. You are invited to join our Wednesday Night Bible Study on Zoom 6 pm Eastern Time. If you have not joined previously contact me for the meeting id and password. Come expecting. We look forward to seeing you.
As you are all too well aware COVID-19 is still with us and killing people at a very regular rate. The various governments across the United States and around the world are trying to deal with this pandemic on the natural level. Church and heathen alike are in rebellion against the various Executive Orders put in place for the health and safety of everyone. Yes, masks work, that is proven science, and yes, vaccinations work and are not immoral. Follow the law (Executive Orders), wear your mask, get the flu shot if you haven’t already, and when a perfected COVID-19 vaccination or other preventative is available get it also. Due to the lack of repentance by the Church and the Church not having the proper image of who and what we are, we have not seen anything yet (things will get worse). Some Churches have been exemplary examples and witnesses during this pandemic while others have not. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 18:31-34 (KJV)
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
Pilate really wants nothing to do with this situation for he knows Jesus is innocent and that the envy of the Chief priests is the cause of this uproar. God warns Pilate through his wife but he caves to the pressure of the religious Jews.
Matthew 27:19 (KJV)
19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
Pilate tells the chief priest to take Jesus and judge Him according to Hebrew (Old Testament) law. However, that is not enough for the High Priests for they want nothing short of His death. Now, Pilate comes and asks Jesus if He is King of the Jews. Jesus responds in this gospel of John with a question although elsewhere He responds in the affirmative.
Matthew 27:11 (KJV)
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
This difference in how Apostle Matthew records this event and how the Apostle John records the event does not mean one is wrong. This type of thing is common between the gospels. What we need to do is combine the accounts together and arrive at a more complete picture of the episode. I don’t think it is hard to see that Jesus’ first response may have been “Thou sayest” followed by “Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?” The following account is likely common knowledge in this area if for no other reason than the atrocity of Herod killing the male children up to two years of age.
Matthew 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Also, just five days ago on the 10th of Nisan we saw the following scene play out as Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey. It is now the 14th day of Nisan, the day the Passover Lamb is to be slain.
John 12:13 (KJV)
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
